PARENTS BEWARE! THIS SCHOOL DOES NOT KEEP YOUR KIDS SAFE! My son attended this school from 3rd grade to 5th grade and he was bullied. My son told his teacher he was being bullied and she asked the other kid if it was true and of course he said no so then she asked other kids in the class if they saw anything and they backed up my son's story. She told me she couldn't do anything because she didn't see it. I went to the principal and my son still wasn't protected until the boy actually punched him in the face and gave him a nose bleed. I am so glad my son is finished with this school.

I love Mechanicstown! The teachers are wonderful. They support my child and are always there for me when I have a concern. My son loves school and comes home happy every day. We cannot wait for the new school year to start!

Our children have a right to feel safe before, during, and after school. And we have an obligation to protect that right. my child was being bullied and did nothing to help. they got into fights and i wasn t notified until my child got home. and when i called the school they told me they couldn t do anything to help us. i requested a meeting with the parents they told me they couldn t request a meeting because their were to many incidents at time. how does that even make sense. I m very upset. I believe this school has gone downhill.

I am a new parent to Mechanicstown school and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! My son is in the 2nd grade, in Mrs. Bowell's class (who is amazing). She pays close attention to what each individual student needs and uses various resources to help each child. She is a proactive teacher.

We just moved into the area from the Bronx in November. However, my children were registered to start the school in September just so that they wouldn't have to start the school yeare 2 months later. Well, I have to say I am glad we went this route. My little guy is attending Mechanicstown and he is in 5th grade is doing very well. He just made high honors and he is loving the school. He's made great friends and loves the area. When my children are happy, I'm happy. I'm a firm believer that if your children are disciplined at home they will do well in whatever school they attend. My biggest advise is to monitor and be on top of their school work.
