There needs to be more community involvement to shape the direction of the school. The administration is out of sync with the students and public. Teacher's Union is not working in the best interest of the students.

This school has Superb Educators and Support Staff that put the KIDS FIRST! Every child gets an equal oportunity, and there is no Favoritism- Administrators come and go, Budgets come and Go- but the Stabilitiy of the Educational Foundation of the District is sound.

I think there is too much concentration on trying to merger MCS with other schools. The students don't want this merger and neither do most of the parents. More effort needs to be placed on academics right now and finals and regents. You need to put the priorities in the right place. The administration needs to get their priorities straight and figure out what is best for the students at the appropriate time. I think we need a whole new administration for this school.

MCS has alot to work on. Discipline is a major issue. No one seems to want to deal with problem students. They just kind of push them through so they don't have to deal with them again. Parent involvement is very poor. MCS isn't big on parent involvement. Some of the teachers are 'horrible'. What the students at this school need is more positive reinforcement from teachers and administration. They need to take the time to listen to the students - don't just jump to conclusions. MCS needs to pay more attention to the bigger issues and not so much to the 'petty' things. They are so quick to scream and punish kids before (and if they even do at all) they try to find out what the real problem is. They focus too much time on state tests and not classroom teaching. They put too much pressure on the students.

This school isn't very good. The teachers arent very good. Especially the 8th grade math teachers. They never even take the time to try to explain things to the students. There are some good teachers at this school.
