My twins attended Rockwell Elementary. It is a great school with fabulus principal, teachers, and staff. Especially the principal Mrs. Hart is so down to earth and personable. If you wish your child to go to a school in a rural like warm atmosphere inSyracuse, this is the school! The only wish was that they have some kind of program for children with ADHD, considering prevalence of this diagnosis.

My son started Rockwell in March of his 2nd grade school year and they were very welcoming to him. His teacher is excellent. It was an easy transition for him and it was like he had been going there from the beginning. My niece graduated from this school and had the same 2nd grade teacher. She is one of the best teachers that both kids have had yet!

We currently have a son enrolled in preschool at Rockwell and he loves it very much. We never hear from him he that he wants to stay home - when he first started he didn't understand he couldn't go every day! The teacher (s) in the room have been very good. We always know what is going on with Aidan and they are very quick to discuss concerns they/you may have so no one is in the dark. It is a very caring school, everyone is friendly and welcoming.

I am a pre-school teacher and had one son attend Rockwell, he finished two years ago. I attended a large district and teach at a mediumto large district. I was leary about my son attending a small school. I have only outstanding things to say about every teacher he had at Rockwell. I could not ask for a better caring and nurturing principal.

Four of my children attended Rockwell Elementary School. The school I thought was a very loving, caring and educational school for my first two children, as they excelled. However, if you have a child with any kind of special needs the school lack the extra help your child will need. The district always seems to be in chaios. There have been four different Superintendents in the 7 years I was involved in the district. The elementary has had three different Prinicpal in that period of time. Currently they are a dissapoint to myself and my children.

Two years ago my husband and I purchased a home in the OCS district. We were both from smaller schools ourselves, Tully/Lafayette. And after we had done some comparisons on test scores etc. we were confident we made a good desision. Our daughter started her 2nd grade year there, it was at first what we thought was an adjustment period, she was involved in all the same activities she was accustomed to at her other school. After 4mo. we realized the district was lacking in administrators diversity training and they were not very welcoming to new students. She would come home crying and telling us horror stories of the lack of involvement she felt. As teachers stood by and allowed poor student behavior toward her. After trying to work it out, we pulled her from the district, placed her back in the prior school where she has now excelled tremendously. How sad!
