New Hartford Senior High School is a great school to send your children. There is not much in the area, but the school system is fantastic. The advanced placement courses are outstanding, and the teachers are great. Some colleges add on 5 points to a students GPA is they know they are a graduate of New Hartford.
The largest problem that parents may find is with other children. Over-privildeged and under-supervised, New Hartford kids can be especially creul. The homogeneous community also has little to offer by way of diversity. However, almost everyone will be able to find at least one friend, activity, or mentor. Teachers are very involved, classes can be as challenging or unchallenging as you want. I made a few great friends during my time at NH, had good times with the soccer team and even learned a little too.
Great school and a wonderful transportation dept. as well. Great place if not one of the best in the area to send your children to.
