The teachers are, for the most part, amazing. They are always willing to go out of their way to help a student. I recommend NPHS a lot. One of my teachers even offered to pay for an AP exam if that was difference between taking it or not. Never, EVER, try to drop an AP class at NPHS as the principal is more concerned about making herself and her school look good by boosting AP numbers than about an individual's needs. Sometimes, 'electives' are not electives and students are simply placed into them because the principal said so. Don't try to drop those classes either, as it is harder to drop than an AP class. Be prepared for parental involvement it anything goes to the principal if you want anything done. Out of 5 stars possible, Teachers get 5 stars, Facilities get 4 stars, Principal gets 1 star.

I am a sophomore at New Paltz High, and I love it. The teachers are great (well, the majority) and they help you so much. I am a better student after only a year, and I cannot wait to go back! GO HUGUENOTS!

Lacking in diversity but an overall great education. No need to send them to private school--nphs does a great job.

My experience at New Paltz High School has been great! Teachers always have offered extra help to every student in the class. This is not elementary school anymore. If you feel like you are stuggleing it is your responsibility to go and get help. The teachers provide many oppertunities to help you. I like the teaching styles and the people that attend the high school. These 4 years are suppose to be one of the best times in your entire life. I can't immagine going anywhere else!

They have an no fail poicy here that i dont agree with. Also the teachers are not that good for the money they get paid. They dont teach. They give assignments but dont teach the children.
