My kids have been going here since Kindergarten and they are now in 3rd grade (will enter 4h grade in Fall 2011). I am very happy with the school overall and am pleased with their progress. And my kids like the school and their teachers ...and this is very important. Yes, there are some problems ...but these are normal school problems. I say this as both a parent and from my work as an auditor - I review programs at NYC public schools including charter schools and I have seen the inside workings of many schools (finances, programs, made surprise visits to observe, talked to principals, teachers) so I have a basis to compare other schools to this school. On a scale of 1 - 10, I would give this school a 8 or 9. It's important to remember that no one school is great for all kids and as a parent, it's up to us to find that right fit for your child. I would not classify teacher turnover here as high - it's normal . All schools have turnover and sometimes turnover is a sign that the teachers are good and are wanted by others. At first the principal did seem a little standoffish but I think she has improved alot. She has been around for 4 years - many schools can not say this.

My child is a former student of this school and I am so glad with my choice of terminating ties with the school. The prinicipal is so out of touch with parents. She punishes the parents who show involvement in the development and growth of their children. The turnover rate with faculty is unbelievable. They tout a reputation of caring and experienced but this is the farthest thing from the truth. They teach these children to "TEST" only. There is a broad area of learning which is lacking. Don't send your child hear for a quality education!
