This school is a great learning environment. The classrooms are smaller than most public schools and it give the comfort and security of a private school.

Dear students, I have been in this school for quite sometime and I can tell you something about it.The teachers are great and they force the best out of you in order to help you achieve what you want. I advise you to join the rest of the foreign students and study with them. This school is very small which has advantages. You know everyone. This school has a program with hunter college which helps the students improve their english through their programs. I advise everyone to join and explore its beauties.

Parents what can I tell you about the school. No words to describe this school. I think it's one of the best schools in New York for new students that came to United States. All the teachers are great and they understnd everybody. Ms. Sophie, Mr. Bourouba, Ms. Aimee, Mr. Michael, Ms. Berena, Ms. Marigle and all the teachers are great. I was in the school in 9 and 10 unfortnatly Ii had to move to San Diego. But I will recommend this school to every single student in New York. The teachers pay more attention to you because the classes are small and all the teachers work together to make the school better. Christian Martinez

The teachers are phenonminal! They know their students and are able to bring out the best in them. There is great exposure to the outside world which in my opinion is extremely important. Thye have earned the title 'World Class School'

Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, the New York State Department of Instruction implemented new assessments designed to be aligned with the Common Core State Standards. The new standards for proficiency in these subjects are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change. See this letter from New York's Commissioner of Education for more information on these changes.

In 2013-2014 New York used the New York State Assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math, and in grades 4 and 8 in Science. At present 2013-14 results are available only for English language arts and math. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New York. The goal is for 90% of students to meet or exceed grade-level standards on the tests.

About the tests


In 2012-2013 New York used the New York State Regents Examinations to test high school students in English, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, Earth science and physics. Students must take at least five Regents Exams in order to graduate. Scores of 65 and above are passing; scores of 55 and above earn credit toward a local diploma (with the approval of the local board of education). The goal is for all students to pass the tests.
