Beacon is the proof that you can get oustanding teaching coupled with a very relaxed environment who really treat young people like intelligent people and not like kids. It's the Beacon Way, no surprise it's the most sought after school in New York city. Fantastic experience for my boy.

My daughter loves the school. It is challenging, but she is enjoying the work. She was accepted to other area schools, but Beacon had her heart. She loves it!

My daughter is a sophomore at Beacon. She is learning lessons which will be invaluable throughout life; How to manage time, strive to do her best, presentation skills, community service. In addition, the academics are challenging. She will be well-prepared for college and is becoming very well-rounded and confident in her abilities.

Beacon is affords students diverse areas of interests and is more like a high quality liberal arts college while it really prepares students to think creatively and deeply due to the strong belief in discussion or seminar style learning and teachers approach their material with extreme passion and instill deep understanding of content.

I love that Beacon taught me to think a lot further than I ever expected to be taught in high school. Beacon also has great opportunities in art, including photography and music.

Everything you want an urban high school to be. Demanding but supportive staff, smart, interesting, kids who are not grinds; and an administration that supports them both, while keeping parents in the loop. Awesome extracurricular activities to boot.
