This school really helps students and specially the teachers and office staff. I recommend these schools because students are treated with respect and many of them feel at home.

As the parent of a teacher at Park East High School, I have had the privilege of experiencing "Thanksgiving Dinner", sporting events and interacting with students & faculty. The media often focuses on the negativity in NYC schools and I would like to take this opportunity to discuss the caring & supportive interaction witnessed between the students and faculty at Park East H.S. It is common knowledge that it is important for parents to be involved in the lives of the children and "school community", sadly I did not observe a strong influence of parents, what I have observed was the extended roll the teachers take on to fill the need for positive adult influence in the lives of the children at Park East H.S. The Board of Education, the Mayor of NYC and the Federal Government should focus on more than just the grading standards! The teachers at Park East H.S. not only go above and beyond to help the students reach the goals set by the D.O.E., they assure that their students are given their support and provide a safe and caring environment. If the powers that be continue to cut funding for education, the schools of NYC will lose the teachers who truly care about making a difference.

Well my first year at Park East High School has been a great rollercoaster because i had my ups and downs with the teachers some were good and some should work harder....But my first year here as a freshmen has taught me a lot... At first i thought i was not going to like it but I guess it could be the best way to enter a good college...Thank you Mr. Kevin McCarthy for choosing me at your school...It has been a pleasure to meet you and seen you soon as a Sophmore at your school....

I am an Alumni from Park East H.S. I must say that Park East has developed to great school since my 4 years at Park East. I seen the change in Park East in my Junior year. The focus of the teachers and and staff was on the students and making sure every one graduated. And not only graduating but having a plan after you graduated whether or not if it was going to college or just having a job. I benefited from attending Park East. The majority of people I hung out wit in school are my closest friends till this day, I keep in contact with a few teachers from the school because they have even more interest about me in what I am doing after graduating from Park East H.S.

I've worked at Park East for almost 8 years. As a teacher, I'm very proud of our accomplishments. We still have a lot to do and we, teachers, continue working very hard to make Park East a better school. Park East is not what it was when I started working here. My first year was horrible; I became a babysitter because students were not interested in learning. Currently, there are students who are very happy and parents who feel comfortable to send their kids to our school. I have good relationship with students and parents.

I truly have to say I am very impressed with the school. My child came in as a transfer student. When I first went into the school I must be honest'I feared for my life'. You had student's trying to transfer to different classes. I worried about how she will adjust. She came home that day very excited and made a lot of new friends. For her being a freshman the Juniors and Seniors were the most welcoming. The school is small. Which makes it great because the teachers are able to know the students better. I have to say for it being H.S. most teachers in other schools can care less if the child does the work or not. Here 3 days out of the week the student can come in early for extra help. Info. is always being sent home to parents. There on top of the game.

i am a student that this school even though the school is small and you cant hardly get to class on time when the period change....however the teacher understands that. The class is small which is a good thing because you get the help you need. every month the school as a whole have an activity like a halloween bash, thanksgiving and ice-skiting. the teachers are caring and make sure the students are up to date... AS A SENIOR I LOVE THIS SCHOOL...its my second family

Talk about trying in the face of adversity! Today we are about to serve our annual full Thanksgiving dinner to over 300 students. It is more meal than many of the students normally will see on Thanksgiving tomorrow. The teachers have been specially trained in Board of Ed advancement programs, and many put hundreds of dollars of their own money into providing additional materials for the students. The school has raised its rating over the past five years to a solid B or a low A. Trust the solid B. With parental involvement, a student may go far; for the superior student, look to a school with more extracurricular activities. Look to parochial school for more religion, control, and order. For a school with faculty heart, this is a place to check out.

This school is by far the worse school i ever been too. The school is very small and yet the teacher and principal can not control the students. How are students supposed to learn here when the teachers are not very educated themselves. I got lrft back last year because i didnt want to go because the teachers dont challenge you enough to learn or be interested to learn. Overall the school is pretty terrible.

As a Former Student of this school I have to say the majority of its teacher are not educated enough to teach highschool. the school has no real programs. and it was extremely hard to learn with the lack of text books especially when some teacher only know how to teach from a text book.

I really dislike this school. Iam a current student and the hallways are always filled with students. You are always late for a class. Teachers dont seem to try and grab students attention and not a lot of students really look foward to school. Fights always start and its located in a project area. Not a great place for your child.

Without it, I wouldn't be the man I am today. It taught me how to respect others and how to have more than one view of the world!

The school is small. The principal is excellent. The students are well behaved. Parents should be more involved. The teachers are caring. Good education overall. Good discipline. Only one minus, lunch hour 10:00 AM should be changed.
