My newphew Nikko is a student of the school. His teachers and the staff at the school are a constant source of motivation and support. The teachers do the best jobs possible by setting great examples and empowering their kids to go beyond traditional thinking.

This is an amazing school. Lots of arts, enrichment, a pool, field trips, plus math, science, reading and writing. The staff is especially wonderful including Mr. McGill, the Parent Teacher coordinator, Debbie Osborne who runs the After School, and of course Mr. Bender the fabulous principal. The PTA is extremely strong and the kids seem very happy. Most important, they are learning a lot and very fast. We are blessed with a great teacher this year - Miss Lockwood. She's terrific!

My two grandsons are students at PS11 and they absolutely love it. When I see them or talk to them on the phone they are so pumped up about school that it warms my heart. I had seen the school and it looks like an oasis providing the necessary things of life in a special way. Thank you PS11

PS 11 has become one of the best public schools in Manhattan, mostly due to the efforts of the administration, faculty and parents. There is a true commitment to make the school better for the kids, and it is CONTAGIOUS. Can't say enough about the efforts of Principal Bender, Mr. McGill and the rest of the administration. Their dedication goes above and beyond; as a parent, I could not be more thankful. Go PS 11!

PS 11 has great teachers, a variety of extra programs like computer lab and music, and they have a pool! the kids go swimming for gym, Nicole loves it! I travel 45mins to get Nicole there and its worth the trip.

When you come right down to it, there is one thing that makes a great school and nothing can take the place of it--great classroom teachers. PS 11 has AMAZING classroom teachers.

The teachers and a principal are dedicated to the school. Since Kindergarten our daughter comes home happy. Now in first grade we ask her how her day at school was and we get 'awesome!' as the answer.

P.S.11 Is the Greatest becasue I use to go to this school and now my son goes there! And they have the most exciting trips ever! The teachers are excellent tutors! The school itself is a very safe place, like a second home!

The school is very freindly and war. Their afterschool program is so progressive and uniquely exciting that my daughter is excited to attend everyday and regrets being sick for any reason because she does not want to miss out. The school has a superior principal and the teaching staff is first rate. Both take great care in the students and they always work at helping students succeed. Knowing the students on a first name basis is hard enough but for the staff to become genuinely interested in the students lives shows the quality of this school.

Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, the New York State Department of Instruction implemented new assessments designed to be aligned with the Common Core State Standards. The new standards for proficiency in these subjects are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change. See this letter from New York's Commissioner of Education for more information on these changes.

In 2012-2013 New York used the New York State Assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New York. The goal is for 90% of students to meet or exceed grade-level standards on the tests.
