I think this school is amazing and Ms. Hasty is doing a great job as the new Principal. The Assistant Principal in the Middle school is doing a wonderful job providing the kids with many programs, being strict and having high expectations for academic excellence. The issue is the influx of Middle school students and the sheer increase in numbers. I feel strongly that this will be the cause that starts the school going in the wrong direction. For two years in a row (going on 3), DOE has increased the number of Middle School students entering P.S. 57. The school struggles a lot with parental invovlement where parents are not involved in their child's education or in thier learning community. There is only a core group of parents who volunteer and are visible in the school.

This school is an amazing school! It has wonderful teachers an awesome principal and plenty of outstanding after school programs and sports programs. This school has something for every student! This school is not just fun and games though, the teachers, assistant principals and the principal have high expectations for each and every student. however they arent ruff on the students to get outstanding grades. They arent to strict but they arent overly nice either. Ill rate it an A+!

Im pleased to have my children in this school. The teachers are always helpful and the principal is very friendly with the students and parents. If theres a problem is always available to talked. I lived in the area all my life and the school never been better. And now that I live far I bring my kids to this school. I love the school because it makes me feel that my kids are in a safe enviroment.

This is a great school with great and caring teachers; when you walk in to the school you feel welcome like coming home; I love the way the staff is, they are always helpfull and the principal Mr. Soto is always available to talk to parents which is why I love the school!

P.S. 57 is an up and coming school in the heart of Harlem. It is a place where children are allowed to florish and nurture their artistic talents in all forms from music to art. This is done while the value of academic structures is at the core of the school. The teacher to student ratio is still pretty high, but it is evident that children are learning and growing at this school.
