The school is doing a great job with the children. I only wish that more of its parents would participate...the parent coordinator has many activities to keep parents involved and its a handful of the same parents here that are actively involved with the school. Other then that i love all the programs that are offered here.

i think we need more great teachers in our children"s class room that are more caring & understanding with parents and there students and to stop these separation between the two school. p.s134 and p.s 137 the both school share one building they should for once work together for the greater good for our children education and not there own needs!

I love this school because the staff starting from the Principal, Assistant Principal, school aides and teachers they all make you feel welcome. My grandson's teacher is so caring and my grandson has come home excited to tell me what new things he has learned. My son and daughter both attended this school and my three grandson's.

The school offeres many great opportunities for our children. As parents we have to take the time to see what those opportunities are. The parent coordinator does her best to keep us all informed of meetings and workshops. What the school needs is more parent involvement.

This school has made great leaps. The staff are highly qualified and are dedicated to the students. They target their instruction to fit the needs of individual students and collaborate well with colleagues and parents. Everyone has a voice at this school, including the children. The use of technology has increased and student engagement and achievement are at a higher level. We have high expectations for everyone involved in our school community. Our priority is to our students.

Dedicated teachers, staff, administration and a great school community provide a caring family feeling and a safe, productive learning environment for children, which you can feel from the moment you walk into the school building. Activities such as Ballroom Dancing, Art, music shows, and Science and Math fairs enhance the creative and and intellectual environment of P.S. 137. Our staff is very involved in helping our students to become enthusiastic and responsive thinkers and learners, as well as responsible, caring, compassionate human beings.

Im fairly new, 1st year parent here at PS137. After two weeks of having my child in the neighboring school, I requested a transfer. Well what a great thing. My child loves to come to school to see her teachers and play/learn with her friends. She was so welcomed that she didn't have any issues with the change. This is a great school! we are so ready for Kindergarten here at 137!

I am a parent in this school for three years now. My son and I have had so much help and individual attention, that I can't say anything other than this is the fit for us. He has improved his academics, social growth and looks forward to going to school every morning. I am very happy with the school and staff are very helpful.

I am a parent at this school for three years now. My son and I are very pleased with the overall school. His academics and social growth have improved drastically. administration are very involved and dedicated to our children. We love PS137 and you will too. The only issue you will see is the other school in the building who are nasty and unfriendly.

I am a very involved parent in this school. The teachers are great and friendly. The Principal and Vice principal and the Parent Coordinator are always concerned about the childen in the school. If there is a problem they get right on it and take care of the problem, I know because I experienced it and I have seen it for myself. I travel from another borough everyday just to bring my child to this school and my son loves it!! He always has a good thing to say about his day and his friends and teachers. The workshops, the meetings, and all the events that happen in the school are always great and informative. KUDDOS to this school!!! PS 137 Rocks!!!

The worst school there is in the Lower East Side.....The principal has no communication with parents and does not resolve no issues with the students. They only have 1 5th grade class with 34 students and 1 teacher. The middle school applications for the 5th graders have been lost..so these students future are in the limbo. Please do not choose PS 137M.

I am a new parent of this school. My child was welcomed into this great community of learners. The schools technology is way ahead of others schools. The education my child is receiving is exceptional. The teacher communication has been great. The only downside to this school is that it shares it's building with another school. The other school seems far less pleasant. Ps 137 is family now to us. Anyone who posts that this school is awful should look at others fake educational schools in the neighborhood.

As a fellow parent and community member, I have seen this school grow in many areas, especially in technology and academics. The school received a overall grade of A (which takes great effort to obtain) For those parents who are involved on a day to day basis they too many experience the good that PS137 is doing! I have a 5th grader and a kindergartener who love this school. The parent involvement is in place and they provide many opportunities for parent involvement, from monthly parent breakfast, annual family dances, auctions, adult workshops, computer classes, there is always something positive going on! The open door policy the school has established is great, I get all the attention I need anytime i need it! can't wait for my little one to start in sept. in the Pre-K .

I am a parent of three in this school. As a single parent I can honestly say that PS137 is very helpful in all areas from the daily stuggles i encountered when one of my twins cried daily, to getting OST support so I can continue to work during the school breaks. It takes a village.. and this is the right village for us! The parent coordinator is great!
