I am a former graduate of Cathedral and must say that I received a wonderful education.Looking at what the school has evolved I must say that I am a bit jealous. The opportunities given to these young ladies is phenominal. The uniforms are so different then what I had to wear back in the 70's,when I graduated, but I am very impressed. If you trully want a wonderful education for your daughter please consider Cathedral. Both you and her would be proud to say that she is a Cathedralite.Go green and white(My uniform color)
the school is great in education. the atmosphere in general is fantastic i feel that as a student i am going to be able to take out a lot of good things from this school. food isn't always good, sometimes you don't always enjoy sitting there but the school is definitely a good school.
I graduated from Cathedral High School many years ago. The teachers were great. I got an awesome education and was able to move forward. Teachers are dedicated and really do care about their students. I wish there were more schools like Cathedral.
I am a student at CHS. I've always been good at school, but I never really liked it. Having said that, I love going to CHS. The majority of the teachers are great and the building is beautiful. The food might not be the greatest, but the resources and chances to do enriching things are above and beyond.
It is one of the best schools in NYC, and I thank my blessings everyday that my parents worked so hard to put my sister, my brother and me in the parochial school system. The quality of teaching that I received there can not be compared and that they have maintained it all these years speaks for itself. The bonds of friendships made all those years back are still intact. What other school can claim that? My sister graduated from Cathedral in ' 78 and my brother from Rice in ' 76. P.S. Currently, My cousin's grandaughter is a freshman at Cathedral "Class of 2014".
Cathedral High School is an extraordinary place where proper education is key no the top factor in every teachers curriculum. As a student who attends this school i am proud to say that i am a Cathedralite. yes some of the students attending cathedral are disrespectful and ill-mannered but rest assure they will and have frequently been reprimanded. Their is only a hand few of students who are like this. the rest are caring loving fun and well-rounded. if you want your daughter to achieve a well rounded background and create long lasting friendships in a culturally diverse setting.please send them to Cathedral High School :D
I found the school to be a horrendous place where no form of learning occurred due to both the extreme lack of teaching ability, and the disrespect shown by students. I felt the few teachers that were knowledgeable were unable to fully exhibit their abilities because the students had no interest in learning. I urge anyone who truly cares about their education to avoid this school at all costs.
Cathedral high school is one of the best schools ever. ! i Love it. I feel like they are preparing me for college which is great. :] im currently attending cathedral high school as a Soon to be junior . Im proud to say that Cathedral High School rocks
This is one of the best High School left in the NYC. If you want a great education, healthy friendships, wonderful atmosphere this is the place for you. I would recommend this HS to all women of every race, culture and background. It is more than a positive experience, its a learning, growing and maturing process and this High School will definitely make a difference between an educated and positive young woman and just another HS graduate.
I am an alumni from Cathedral High School and now attending one of the best universities in the United States. I felt that CHS prepared me academically to face the challenges outside of high school. I liked the enviroment and the girls were very warm and welcoming. I will recommend this school to anyone.
this school doesn't offer such great academic opportunities even when compare to the worse public high school. THis school did not prepare my daughter for any college work even though she graduated salutatorian
Cathedral High School has been a great place for my daughter. Their academic system is great. The girls are prepared for college and are offered internships. There are a good number of activities to do afterschool and my daughter loves it. The teachers are also very attentive and supportive of their students.
Cathedral High School is a fine school for girls. It's media studio offers the young women hands-on experience. In addition, the course selections are varied and relevant to today's issues. On the other hand, the school is ran like a business. There is a void of warmth and care for the students.
Is a fantantic school where discipline and education is the basis of the school. Our daughters come out of the school not only with the best education but with a greater religious experience.
If you're looking for a school to offer hands on attention to your child, a variety of extracurricular activities, a challenging curriculum, and a well-structured environment for student development and discipline...THIS IS NOT THE SCHOOL for your child. My daughter left this school with regrets, frustration and little to no positive fulfillment. I was not impressed by the teaching nor the overall attitudes of the teachers at this school. My child attended Cathedral from 1995 to 1999, and as far as I heard, things have not changed but worsened.
My daughter ius attending this school. She is in her 12 th grade. Extracarrical activities is rich and the Ap Classes also Honor classes are to be admired. The staff goes out of their way to assist students.
I just found this website and just had to leave feedback on this wonderful school. Both of my daughters are almuni of Cathedral High School, having graduated in '99 and '00. The teachers were compassionate and worked one on one with each student to ensure the students needs first and foremost. Safety and discipline are regularly revised and supervision on the school rules were always enforced allowing things to run smoothly. Cathedral High School graduates are accepted into some of the top colleges and universities today and its graduates have a high sucess rate of academic scholarships. One in every three women in New York City will have graduated from Cathedral High School. I highly recomend this High school to any parent who is willing to send their daughter to a school that will listen to your daughters needs and ensures her academic success.
Cathedral H.S(CHS) gives many opportunities for young women of New york to build skills and talents that could benefit for their careers. Its discipline helps these young ladies to build character and have a good self- esteem. With the help of the teachers at CHS students are able to work hard in studies to gain recognition by colleges of their choices. Many colleges have already supplied many graduates grants and scholarships. In my opinion Cathedral High School is a school of good results.
