Head master seems more interested in fundraising and expanding school than in dealing with individual students. The school has no learning specialist to deal with children who have advanced or remedial needs. They expect you to bring one in at your own expense...and many families do. Some faculty are great but others are just mediocre or worse. This school was a great disappointment for my family.

Hi i am one of the students at St.Hildas and i was just trying to get to the school website when i found this review. Our school completely deserves five stars! I have learned so much from my teachers and i have learned so much from just being in an area where we all get along. I am in that band you mention. It is alot of fun and again I have learned so much. We go on lots of field trips in my school so we get exposure to museums and historical places that we would otherwise not get. I am in 6th grade and i am enjoying it and i cannot wait for more!

I absolutely love this school. I have been a parent since 2002, and every year I am impressed all over again.

Our daughter is in her second year at St Hilda's. We could not be happier. The academics are rigorous, but the atmosphere is supportive and cherishes each child. The facilities are also top-notch and focus resources on the younger children, unlike many schools which extend though 12th grade.

Run by a particularly gifted head of school, Virginia Connor. Excellent staff and culture. Not purely academic. Excellent sports programs and theater for a K-9 school.

I have gone here since kindergarten, and I love it. I will be graduating in 2010 and will miss SHSH forever.

This is the most amazing school. We feel blessed to be part of the community. The teachers are outstanding and the parent community is in it for the right reasons

I was a former student and I think it is one of the best schools in America. I got a fabulous education there and I loved it the first minute I was there. Making friends was very easy and we all got along very well. I was beyond satisfied with St. Hilda's & St. Hugh's School.

My grandchildren attend and I think the school is excellent. Caring administration, fine teachers, great atmosphere.

This is probably the best school in the city. As a student, I have learned to love learning, knowledge, diversity, and myself. As an alumni, the friends dearest to me in this world are my friends from St. H&H. It prepares the students well for high school, makes them love the arts, athletics, and learning. There, everyone is accepted for who they are, not who someone else thinks they should be. Although strong in academics, it is manageable. I have nothing but great things to say about this school, and, if it was also a high school, I would not be an alumni but a student. If you want the ideal New York City private day school, this is the one. St. Hilda's is a warm, nurturing environment, the faculty is great and well-educated, the sports are equally good, and the facilities are breathtaking. I miss it so much.

Excellent school. Both my daughters go here. The culture of the school is very respectful and friendly. I would keep my girls here until they graduate from middle school.

This is a wonderful school. The building has undergone renovations and has state of the art facilities. The program is wonderful and the kids love it. They make learning so much fun. There is gym everyday. Diversity is a strength. The kids are nurtured and prepared for eentrance into high school.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
