I actually found the admissions staff to be one of the kindest of all NYC private schools. They called back in a timely manner, showed compassion, enthusiasm in a professional manner. These schools are hard to gain acceptance to, but if your child did not get in,it stings, but you must believe this was then not the school for them.

A most unprofessional staff in admissions. if this is an indication of the quality and care of the school staff, I would defintiely not recommend this school.

The following is a modified version of the thank you letter I sent to Mrs. Stewart, the Director of College Guidance at York, after I was accepted to the Wharton School. Truly an excellent job on their part: Dear Mrs. Stewart, I know very few people that have as much passion, commitment, and feeling for their job, as you. Thank you for all of the time you put in to help me get accepted to the college of my dreams. It wouldn't have been possible without you and the rest of the supportive staff at York. You answered my emails within minutes, returned my essays with insightful annotations right-away, and truly made me feel comfortable with whatever I needed at any point along the process. Going to Wharton is beyond a dream come true. I am so glad to represent York, and hope to start a trend, establishing a York legacy at Penn.

York Prep has done an outstanding job in understanding the students' strengths and building on them to help students reach their fullest potential. My daughter was struggling in the eighth grade when she arrived at York Prep and now she's on to Brown University this fall. York Prep made her believe she could reach for the stars. We are forever grateful.

If it were not for the time and effort Mr. and Mrs. Stewart put forward toward my candidacy, I would never have had the courage or confidence in myself to apply to an Ivy League school. This kind of personal interaction and guidance define education at York Prep. York provided me with a learning experience that has contributed to my development both as a student and as an individual. The intimate classroom discussions, available resources, and approachable teachers at York enable students to realize their full potential. Having now been accepted, I feel like the luckiest person on earth. When I think about all I have learned and how far I have come over the last four years, it has truly been a privilege to attend York Prep.

York Prep is a true gem of a school. Their mission of ensuring each child's success works through small class size, weekly progress reports on-line, an excellent, caring faculty and a hands-ons administration. College guidance is simply the best I have encountered; organized, supportive & appropriate. that students

York Prep was a wonderful transition from his prior K-8 school. His interest and skills in math and English flourished due to the dedicated and caring teachers he was taught by. A wonderful neighborhood and a convienent commute.

York Prep is a great school where students really get the kind of one on one attention they need. In addition, the teachers are very compelling, creative and determined.
York Prep is a school where students don't 'fall through the cracks.' Thanks to the caring staff and weekly communication through Edline, every student is aware of their progress. Extra help is continually available and encouraged when students seek it out. Check out this school!

York Prep changed my attitude of schooling in general and of myself. I had many influential teachers. If I struggled with any subject, there was support. I never felt like I couldn't do something

The teacher are nice and the school building is clean, but the studies are very easy and the music department is weak.
Very impressed with the quality and caring I've seen in the teaching staff. These teachers truly care about the kids and do everything they can to help them succeed and excel. This is not a pressure cooker school. This is not a school where parents drive their kids to be Ivy League and I applaud that. Nice balance of strong education and appreciation for family time. The only downside is a rather rigid administration.

Nice friendly atmosphere with a low student to teacher ratio.

York is a terrific place for kids of all skill levels. My son was in the top of his class and challenged through the York Scholars Program. His friend was learning disabled and got lots of support at this great school. The teachers are outstanding, with specific emphasis on the science teachers. I never dreamed my son would be interested in chemistry but his teacher was truly wonderful and inspiring...as are all of the teachers.

I have been more than pleased with York Prep. My son successfully graduated last year. He loved his teachers. The school provides a nurturing environment to the students.' Every child wants to be successful' is the school's motto. It is also the objective of the teachers to help them achieve their goals. The teachers' level of energy and dedication is very strong. Teachers maintain close relationships with the students and support them in their endeavors. Academics, sports and extra curricular events enable every student to thrive and to participate in the school's activities. I think York has a great faculty and very good academic standards.

My daughter, now a sophomore, has been at York since 6th grade. She has fit right into York Prep and is succeeding. York Prep is a solid school with a traditionally based curriculum and teaching style. My daughter discovered how to learn at York Prep. Her teachers are always available for additional assistance. The best test to me of a good teacher is one who can determine what their student's learning differences/styles are and modify to accommodate their students learning abilities. This is evident with the new teachers this year. These new teachers balance the core of York's long standing faculty. York s tracking system works well for my daughter. She is one track down from honors and consistently works at her best level. The strong college guidance program will help her get into the university/college that will be best for her continuing education.

In my position as library media specialist, I have been involved with all classes and all teachers. The level of teacher commitment and involvement at this school is exceptional. The teachers and coaches work hard to involve every student in art and drama and in some type of extracurricular activity. The college counseling is the best I have seen in the five schools I have worked in previously.
