my son is in first grade and has been in this school since he was in the head-start program, very pleased with the education he is receiving as well the character that he's captured from the school, love the way the teachers go about getting through to my child and communicate with me so we're all on the same page, finally the administration is really nice and understanding unlike other schools, the principal is the strongest yet sweetest principal i have ever come across with, the headmaster very nice as well. Depending what education you receive in your early childhood will pay off through your entire school career/professional career.
I only have one word to describe this school "HORRIBLE." they are disorganized i have tried several times to arrange a meeting with the principal and not once has she reached out to me. the teacher is the same she is rude and does not communicate or regard the parent's concerns. worst of all the school is not aligned to the common core learning standards
As a proud parent of child who has graduated from St. Spyridon Parochial School in 2011, I am extremely grateful for the principal and the teachers. Their countless contributions in giving my child such a strong foundation so that she was able and ready to succeed in high school. Whether it was through the challenging academics, the beautiful spiritual atmosphere, or just learning the Greek language , St. Spyridon Parochial School has touched my family.
Great School and great leadership. School is well aligned to state curriculum, very well organized, great administration, and teachers utilize universal grading policies that represent rigor and high school allignment.
Negative Points: School is not aligned to state curriculum, very disorganized, poor administration, and teachers utilize different grading policies then those presented to parents in handbook. The administration is impossible to get in touch with, for example, it took us almost three months to meet with the principal. I don't recommend this school to any parent that wants a well round and rigorous education.
Minus points: Very poor school standards, not organized, management is very poor, they crave for money and always partying mentality. Plus points: Teachers are friendly but out come in our kid is zero. I would not recommend any one to send their kids in this neighbourhood. Sorry for the frank opinion.
Bad school my son is in the 8th grade and this year he has had 4 different teachers. Its march and the still cant find a teacher for these kids. Its extremely disorganized.
My son is in the third grade, this is his second year in this school. Academically he is doing very well, but this is because of how important I feel education is.(education always starts at home) The school teachers are average aside from maybe one or two teachers I feel are not teaching up to par. The principle is a very nice man and always present when needed. There is a lively atmosphere in the school, mainly because most of the children get to know each other very well due to the fact that it's a K-8th grade school and only one or two classes per grade, so it does feel very familial. All in all my son is happy there so I'm happy too.
This school needs major improvements overall. They have combined grades with unqualified/overburdened teachers which have resulted in the children being ripped off academically. Overall the staff is friendly and tries to address the parents needs but the school is extremely disorganized. I had two children in this school which I have pulled out for the following year. The school has no materials for the children and furthermore, the school is limited on computers and they have no library. This school does not deliver for the amount of tuition one pays. I would not recommend this school for any parent...its a waste of money and a disadvantage to your child. The only plus to this school is the fact that your child would learn greek as a second language but thats about all the school has to offer.
