My 6 year old has started wetting his pants in school. Are bullies to blame?

My son is 6 and has been gettong picked on in school by 2 boys. Now he is not willing to ask to use the restroom. he said he is not afriad of the boys they just take too long and he dosent want the teacher to pair him up with either of these boys. I have a meeting with the teacher this afternoon. I hope we can get to the bottom of this

I would certainly hope that the teacher is able to separate your son from the two other children, given the situation. I hope a quick resolution will follow from your meeting, but just to be on the safe side, I encourage you to document the events and the results of your meeting with the teacher in a written note, copying the principal afterwards. It can be something as simple as, "Dear (Mrs. Teacher), Thank you for meeting with me earlier today, (date), to discuss my son, (name), and the difficulties he's dealt with some of the other boys (name & name)in his class. As we discussed, I believe my son is afraid to use the restroom when paired with either of them, and that's contributed to his having incidents where he's wet his pants instead of using the facilities. I appreciate your understanding, and willingness to (let him use the restroom alone, or when paired with other children.) Sincerely, (your name)35594

Thank you so much for the advice. I would not have thought about documenting it. My son wears a uniform of dark pants so no one knows about the "accidents". I discovered it the first few times just snuggleing on the couch for a little how was your day chat and felt the wet pants. again thank you so much for the graet advice I will most def. follow it. Thank You Healthy11. I used your advice and as it turns out on of the children picking on my son is a repeat offender. His parents and the principal have had to get involved with other students and their parents. I also used you sample letter. You have been tremondously helpful! All the best!! 52567
