I have 2 children in this school; 3rd and 5th grades. This is really a gem in the community. I appreciate the hard work and dedication tha the staff put into the kids. It shows in my children and the change that they have made since starting in this school. I also appreciate the time and energy that is placed on preparation for the standardized test and getting our children up to par. If you are considering this school, this is a no-brainer. This is the best choice I made in the development education, social and motivational skills of my children.
I am very happy with the extra curricula activities at CS 200. They include, a girls and boys basketball team, cheerleading team, and track team. Also, the graduates of CS 200 are admitted into the best middle schools in the city.(Thurgood Marshall, FDA #1, Kappa IV, and Women's Leadership Academy. CS 200's students attend Frederick Douglass Academy for accelerated courses and are also members of their chess and robotics teams. CS 200 is really doing wonderful things for its students!
I am the parent of two boys (grades:K & 3) currently attending PS 200 and I am very dissatisfied with the level of education my oldest son in particular receive from this school, I do not feel this school is heavily invested in the quality of education they are providing this community. They have no gym, the children have their PE time 1x-2x's a week in a room just smaller than a cafeteria and very little PE equipment. They have no musical instruments and their music program is almost non-existent, they have very few computers and the majority of them are broken. They have hired teachers who have no control over their classrooms and have wasted valuable learning time trying to do so, and the administration does little to remedy parent concern.
