Special education program details Girls Prep is an inclusive school, and actively seeks to recruit and serve students with special needs. The school has a talented Learning Specialist Coordinator who oversees services and assists teachers and families with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process. We serve students with special needs in a variety of settings, depending on their needs.

English Language Learner program details Girls Prep is an inclusive school, and actively seeks to recruit and serve ELLs. The school has a talented ELL Coordinator who provides services to students and provides teachers and families with ELL resources and strategies to support students. Instruction focuses on helping students develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. We do this by providing our students with frequent feedback, enhancing students’ vocabularies, and immersing students in language and story-telling.

Transportation details We are pleased to share that Girls Prep Lower East Side Elementary will begin offering free bus transportation to and from school for students in grades K-4. Provided by the NYC Department of Education’s Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT), this yellow bus service will be a fantastic way for Manhattan residents to more easily reach Girls Prep.
