Woods Road Elementary School

I think this school has great potential, involved parents, good students, caring teachers and a good cirriculium however, Principal Golub does not have every childs safety as a priority. He does not speak to both families. He has his head in the sand most of the time. We need a new Principal, he has been there long enough, and you can tell he is just riding the waves til retirement. It is unfair to the kids that this potentially great school is not upto par.

Saying the prinicipal is rude and unprofessional is an understatement. This principal has serious issues. He has ran this school to the ground. It would be of the best interest of the taxpayers and students to close Woods Road and let the other elementary absorb the students/teachers. OR Please re-staff the Prinicpal! Until then, if you have a choice to send your child to any other elementary school in this District - DO IT!!

I am a parent of a first time student in the school. My expectations were far greater than what I have seen so far. I am sadly disappointed in the school. The attention to each child in the classroom seems limited due to the lack of teacher assistants available. The 'extra' activities and holiday celebrations appear to be poorly coordinated and lack structure and interest. Although the principal listens to what you have to say, [it seems] he is reluctant to implement new procedures in the school, even if it would benefit the children and teachers. What is left of playground area is outdated. The school as a whole appears to be very disorganized and chaotic.

Though we had only short experienced in Woods Road Elem. Sch but I'm sure my son has so many happy moments that he can share to his friends wherever he may be. The staffs and teachers are very nice.

Woods Elementary is providing my children with an outstanding educational experience. The teachers are fantastic dedicated people. The administration is open and caring towards the children. As a parent of a special needs child I have found Woods Elementary and the North Babylon School District more than willing to do what is best for my child as well as for other children. I can not say enough good things about Woods Elementary and the North Babylon School District.

My son attends Woods Road. This is his first year in this school and in this district since we moved here from Queens in August 2006. I think his teacher and the principal have been very supportive and helpful during my son's transition. He was struggling at first since the academic program at Woods Road is more challenging. He was falling behind and I reached out to his 4th grade teacher and the principal. The principal immediately went into action and sought out a tutor for my son. What we got was a wonderful teacher named Mrs. Cola who has done a magnificent job with my son. My son's teacher Mrs. Wagner also helped to inspire and to encourage my son to do well. I cannot be happier with Woods Road and all the staff. Thank you for everything. Josie Tavera

Great academic programs! I would however like to have them spend some more time on sports for both girls and boys. The school's principal sometimes gave too much of his personal opinion and should think before he makes announcement regarding different races.

Level of parent involvement is okay however, we feel teachers should be better trained to work with situations that may arise. More knowledge is needed on their part.
