I think it is a great school. As a member of the community and a former student, I believe it was great when I went to there, and I think its just as great now! I've talked to many of the neighbors who have children their and all the kids love it, as well as the parents. And we all believe it is a mistake to close the school. The teachers were great when I attended, and I hear most teachers are still awesome! But like they say, you can't fight city hall! Or in other words, you can't fight the school board, especially when the community or the PTA have no say in it! Its a real shame they want to close this school, instead of laying off all those high paid administrators! But the school overall was and still is fantastic! Please now that Jacob Gunther has been receiving such great ratings, why not save the school, and reduce costs other ways. Like ridding yourselves of the high paid administrators, or better yet, cut the retired administrators pay. There is no reason to pay a retiree thousands of dollars if their not working anymore!

Jacob Gunther is a great school! The teachers are compassionate and caring in addition to being great educators. The students enjoy going to school each day and excel academically. Having only two classes per grade level has both it's ups and downs, but given the choice - I would choose this small school setting every time. The teachers and administrators know each student and parent by name. There is a personal relationship here that I haven't seen anywhere else.

This school has a few great teachers and too many poor teachers.

This is a top-notch school, as I believe all of North Bellmore schools are. The academic programs are incredible and the quality of teachers is superb. The programs are excellent, from music, art & many other types of extracurricular activities. I couldn't be happier with the North Bellmore School District- #1 in Nassau County...ranking very high in NYS.

Small neighborhood school that gives a 'private school feel' in that there are only 2 classes in each grade and the principal almost knows all the children in the school! Small classes (20) in a quiet locale.
