My husband & I both grew up in Oyster Bay and attended the public schools in this wonderful little town. After living for a few years in a nearby town, we were eager to return to OB once our oldest was ready for kindergarten. We are so glad that we did! Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School is a true gem. The building is warm and welcoming, clean and completely modern. The entire staff - from the Principal, the teachers, aides, custodians, secretaries, right on down to the substitutes - is friendly, welcoming, highly educated, motivated, and happy! The teachers have access to the latest technology - Smart Boards in every classroom, Music on the Brain music program with a keyboard for each child... I could go on, but if you are considering a move to the district, you really need to visit the school and see the wonders for yourself.

Smart boards in most classrooms. A science teacher that is devoted to the kids. School is improving although there isn't much to improve. The principal is wonderful, and it is such a great warm environment for the K-2 students. I couldn't be happier with a school. My kids thrived in Roosevelt. Unfortunately more and more people are finding out about the wonderful things happening in Oyster Bay. Even with the influx of private school children, we hope to keep the small hometown environment with excellent scores. This is the best school district on Long Island based on demographics, grades, size of school and the wonderful community.

Great school. Excellent art and music teachers. Very good in all catagories. Unfortunately school budget defeated for 2006. For this reason we can't see anything improving in the near term. In fact we anticipate the opposite.

I think this is a wonderful school with an excellent staff of teachers and an awesome principal! The children are very smart, and well mannered. The parents are loving parents who are very involved with their children, and everyone is very nice. I love this school and I am very happy my daughter is going to this school. It could not be any better!

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.
