PS 64 is a school in transition. We have a new Principal and I'll reserve my comments until she has completed a full year. The teachers are a mix bag. For the most part they are excellent but on those times when you do have a problem with a teacher, the administration is more concerned with the status quo than in solving the problem. The extracurricular activities are excellent. The school produces plays and talent that will bring tears to your eyes. The security guard is horrible to the students and the really rough kids are not disciplined properly but overall the school is safe. (Lucky for us, we don't have too many rough kids.) Parents are not as involved as in previous years which is not a good sign. My child is in the 5th grade and she's been there since K. The school has made a slow decline.
