This is the first school in the nation to receive the government's Malcolm Baldridge award for excellence and it is apparent why to anyone who knows the school. Students are highly motivated; the environment is highly competitive. Most teachers go above and beyond what one might expect so that the students receive the best education possible. For example, my daughter was out sick for a week and we recived a call from one of her teachers. He was worried about her grades and offered to stay after school or come to the house in the evenings to provide her with the lessons she missed. He was worried while her test scores averaged 98.5%. If he's that concerned about a good student, I can't imagine the effort that he puts into helping the student who is struggling. Parents are very involved and teachers are very approachable and interested in addressing concerns. The school prepares the students quite well for college. Both of my children went on to highly rated private universities, one to the number one rated medical school in the country, where they graduated near the top of their class. They both owe much of their success to the education received at Pearl River High School.

A challenging, encouraging environment for students grades 8-12. Students benefit from small classes that afford them personal attention and easy access to teacher office hours. Classes span a wide range of levels and subjects. Upper classman have the opportunity to take honors and advanced placement classes, which are great preparation for college level classes. Additionally, advanced classes present the opportunity for students to place our of first year college requirements. Wonderful teachers that are frequently involved in extra-curriculars, as well. Extremely robust athletics and extra-curricular program that helps keep students involved, focused, and in touch with their community.

My daughter attends and is doing outstanding. She was brought there against her will from a top private school in NYC but due to the friendly teachers, great student body and all around supportive atmosphere the move has proven successful. No regrets best public school in the area by far....
