I have to write and say this school is top notch. Any negative nellies out there do not know what they have. We've lived in several states in the US and this school really is amazing. "Top" schools in other states cannot compare to this school in any way shape or form. The teachers bend over backwards to help a student if they ask for help. I even had one teacher call my house directly to help my son not get a zero on a missed assignment. I do agree there is easy access to drugs at this school but if your child is busy with sports and has a college bound attitude he or she will have many opportunities and do very well.

PMHS prepared me for the real world, not just the necessary skills to make my way into a university. These skills helped make me a more well-rounded individual and I owe it to the staff and faculty of the Pittsford School District.

Son Graduated 2006. My son received a good education from the school district. I think that they have too much focus on ratings, and standardised test scores, rather than an holtistic approach to these young people.

As a current student at PMHS, I have been thoroughly challenged by the courses, but have been able to work individually with teachers when I needed extra support. The teachers are fantastic across the board. There are plenty of extra-curriculars, and it is easy to start your own if there isn't one you'd like to participate in. Music, in particular, is great. I've heard drugs/alcohol are a problem, but I think that's mostly dependant on parental supervision, not the school. The school tries very hard to keep its kids on track to the highest places. Sometimes there is a bit too much pressure...but I have found that the dedicated benefit entirely from it.

My daughter grduated in 2006. She was an above average student, but not of the top caliber that Pittsford Mendon likes to boast they turn out. She went through four years virtually unnoticed by staff and administration. Drugs are an extremely big problem at this school where the parking lot is filled with expensive cars driven by kids with much disposable income.

As a student of Pittsford-Mendon High School, I am proud to wear maroon and gold. I love this school, not only is everybody there well rounded and understanding but the level of intellict is amazing. Students taking multiple AP classes is not at all rare. Overall it is an awesome school to be a part of! As far as school spirit and sports games go, both are highly regarded, and really fun! The support of one another is awesome, and if I were moving to the area, I would choose Pittsford-Mendon High School in a heartbeat!
