This school is fantastic! My son attended a private school prior to enrolling at Thornell Elementary School and I was worried about the transition and academics but it has been the best move we ever made! My older children attended Mendon Center so I feel as though I have a good perspective. Every teacher my son has had at Thornell has been superior! The school has a warm, nurturing feel, with strong academics. Everyone is friendly - from the principal to the front desk receptionist. Mendon Center was a great school as well, but a bit large and impersonal. Thornell Road School has my highest endorsement!

As a parent of three children who have attended Thornell I can speak from experience. This is a great place, with great teachers, with successful music/arts programs and they made sure that extra curricular programs were readily available.

No way would I ever give this school any rating above a 6. All 3 of my children attend this school. we came from another district nearby and were sadly disappointed. There is no before or after school extra help, many teachers are gone as soon as the busses pull out. There are rediculous monetary charges for every single thing associated with the school. Our former district had help available, staff willing to assist in any way when necessary (without arguement) summer curriculum courses were incredible (and without charge!!) This school even cherges for chess club, whereas our other did not. When having to work with teachers at Thornell rd, I would receive empty promises that always fell short. Rude remarks toward children, I countless times and I'm not the only parent with this issue!
