The faculty & staff did very well by my children, giving them a very solid foundation upon which to build the rest of their lives.

Our family moved to Plainview in January 2007. Our daughter was attending PS 166 in Queens. Immediately after starting first grade at Parkway, we saw a drastic change in her overall attitude towards school. In Queens, she was unhappy and the work load was overwhelming. At Parkway, she has time to learn as well as time to be a 6 year-old. She loves going to school, loves her teacher, loves to do homework and is a much happier child. We are thrilled with the effect Parkway has had on our daughter!

We just started Parkway this year, but we are impressed with the quality of the teaching, the depth and breadth of the curriculum and progress of our child to date. Parkway goes beyond memorization in first grade and tries to get the kids to understand the concepts. The teachers are experienced and really care about the progress of each student. One area for improvement would be the physical building. It is cramped and desperately needs updating. One positive is the recent addition of the new library/media center which is beautiful and contains new Dell computers.

Good academics, although the teachers push the students very hard and give lots of homework in all grades. Children become overwhelmed and its easy to fall behind. Would like to see teachers focusing more on the child actually LEARNING that just trying to meet state deadlines.
