Norwood is a great elementary school that encourages community, a passion for learning, and creativity amongst it students. It follows the Princeton Plan; there are two grade K-2 buildings and two grade 3-5 buildings. This plan enabled the district to save $ and keep programs and electives for the kids. It also benefits the younger kids by keeping them separated fromt the older kids a little longer :-) The school uses technology by having white boards present in the classroom and library. The school website also serves to update the community and contact the school if needed. The children also can log on to educational programs from home that reinforce what they are doing in school. The principal Leah Anesta is visible in the school and very approachable both in person and over email. She calls to update the families often and keep you informed of weekly events. My daughter is in K now and often mentions not only the teacher but the aides that rotate through the classrooms and lunch rooms to assist the children. My daughter's teacher Mrs. Pierce is a great educator who makes herself available to address any concerns I have. She gives appropriate HW and partners with the parents.

This school has a very advanced curriculum that keeps the students challenged, but has the full support of teachers who are willing to take the extra initiative to help them succeed.
