My children learn so much, have close friendships and see their friends at church. The families are close because we all know each other. The small community is tight knit and the teacher's always go the extra mile. They put in more hours than any others!
St. Peter's is certainly the right choice for us. The pastor, principal and faculty clearly care about their mission to educate as well as maintain discipline. Fr. Garisto (former educator), our pastor, and the principal, Ms. Roach, have made sure that the curriculum, especially the science and math programs, prepare the graduates very well for high school. Music, art, drama, sports and other extra curricular programs are also available. Through parish and school events, we have come to know many other parents and parishioners whom we can really call friends now. It is a community of people we love to be around. School families and other parishioners also gain knowledge of the wonderful history behind both the School and Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel by listening to our pastor at Mass. Our three children are benefiting from their St. Peter's experience, as they gain knowledge, friendships and faith.
We love St. Peter's. We have twins and there is a great deal of knowledge and experience in teaching to their very different personality and learning styles. The teachers are caring and the strict environment helps to reinforce the values we are teaching at home. I love the structure of the curriculum and support the children receive every step of the way. Their before and after school programs are a lifesaver for working parents providing a safe, fun environment which my children hate to leave.
The academic program at St. Peter's is excellent. Teachers are very caring. The younger grades are taught about kindness and respect. Students regularly attend Mass. There is daily prayer. Students have art, music, gym and library, but no computers for younger kids. The downside is that parental involvement is not encouraged in classrooms. The discipline for grades 6-8 (especially 8th grade)is not as strict as it is for grades pre-k to 5. The school pastor seems to have way TOO MUCH control over what goes on, such as what is allowed to be displayed in the building, what can be on school grounds, fundraising.
We are satisfied with St. Peter's. All of the teaching staff and support staff are wonderful. Very secure school. Tuition is somewhat expensive but well worth it.
