Putnam Valley High School

I am a freshman at this school and I am in love with it. My teachers are great, most of the kids are great, the clubs are great and you feel like you belong. Everything is so much better than the middle school. You are glad to be a part of putnam valley and all the hardship in the past is worth it to go to this school. I already don't want my experience to end and to go off to college. Send your kid here. They will have the best 4 years of their life.

My three children have gone through the Putnam Valley School system, two attended Panas before the construction of PVHS. One is learning disabled and received multiple special services over the years. The majority of PV teachers and specialists were wonderful and laid a solid foundation for his success as an adult. In my daughter's experiences in PVHS, most of the teachers/counselors are wonderful, with a few exceptions. Winter sports are quite limited to girls and as a three season athlete; she succeeded on a boy's team during the winter. (Cheerleading is not a sport.) She has taken advantage of the advanced course selection and will graduate with 20 college credits. Academic clubs, challenging experiences through Model Congress and a life experience of a foreign language trip abroad have guided her towards the choices she has made for higher education. Overall it is a wonderful school with some room for improvement.
