INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Though there are trouble makers, just like any other school, I really am enjoying my learning experience here. If you keep your focus and if you WANT to learn, then I recommend this school. There are so many programs and after school activities to get involved in and most of the teachers are not bad. It does have a bad reputation, but the school is getting better and better as time goes on. I thought I wasn't going to like it here, but I do. (I am a freshman here currently)

Horrible horrible horrible!!!! Teachers are disrespectful they fail you out of them not liking you or out of spite. When you get out of school you see a lot of gang affiliated kids infront of the deli, you see trouble makers, kids making awful a lot of noise, you see kids disrespecting pedestrians. It's so awful, I recommend everybody not to send your child here. The councilors never have time to listen to what you have to say except one or two of them it's beyond crazy in bryant. Don't send your child here for your own sake.

There are positives and negatives to going to this school. If your child is planning to come there is a talent show in December at my school. The main focus is academics. Many students and teachers are friendly with you. However, there is at least 30 students per class to one teacher. I won't deny that our school doesn't have any air conditioner but, that is a minor thing. The food is delicious. When your a freshman though it's confusing to get to class. Some people there treat you very kindly. They have hands on activities.

This is one of the most amazing schools I have ever had the pleasure to encounter and become a part of. This school symbolizes that where ever a student wants to suceed, he can. This school has wonderful resources that help students become as prepared as can be to move forward in life and in college. The teachers who work here know what they are doing and always guide students in the right path, leaving the students to decide on what to do. The students who really want to suceed and take advantage of what the school has to offer, will find it here at Bryant High School.

Great school. I highly recommend this school. Many programs. Student must get involved in some activity. There is something for everyone. Teachers give a lot! Many give more time than they have to. For some reason, Parents don't get involved with PA meetings and they should. This is their childs school. We all want good things for our children. Mr Perez , the AP and Teachers have increased the graduation rate under Mr Perez supervision. If more Parents would get involved, word would get around on how good this school really is. No safety issues here either.

this school changed my life. i saw things i would have never imagined, saw so many people change in a matter of months. i still think about the friends i made my first year and never got to see again because they dropped out. i never belonged here, (i knew that the first day i came into this school), but somehow i was able to keep myself sane and focus on my studies. not many kids can do that, i had the constant support of my parents. some teachers were helpful too, though if you are a quiet and smart kid you will always stand out. i don't recommend going here if you/your child is easily "influenced" there's too many kids attending this school who have already gone down the wrong path, unfortunately. if you're already attending, i suggest you make the most out of it.

this school is horrible. as a student I am extremely disappointed of the kids, the teachers, and the actual school. i feel like i am smarter than the teachers and that the school might be discriminating against students that are of less intelligence. they lump them in to these classes that are a lost cause. the teachers don't seem to care if the students pass or not in these classes, its not their problem... they just want their pay. some of the teachers are OK... however they mostly teach the more privileged classes such as the honors and AP classes that i take. i feel sorry for the kids in my area that are forced to go to this school....going there was the biggest mistake of my life and i am finally graduating as a senior in 2011. i wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy.

As a new immigrant, and also as a successful graduate student, I have to tell how grateful high school is Bryant. It influences in my life to develop my carrier as well it gave me hope and dignity .I still remember that day when I immigrated to U.S.A, and I didn t know that much English. All of my teachers from Bryant helped me develop my English. Today I am attending a college. Within two years I graduated, and it was unbelievable for me. I want to give all the credit to my teachers who helped me build my carrier. I will never forget them. I love them as my parents and I always will. Bryant is the best and they deserve to win this price.

W.C Bryant High School is the most diverse school in the nation. We are proud to call it our home.Unlike other schools,Bryant is a zone school. So we are forced to take everyone irrespective of their talents but our teachers take that as a challenge and compared to other zone schools in the country, it has done extraordinarilly. Bryant hisgh school has students from more than 60 countries and from all major religions. We have every single club you could think of. Our athletics are the best in the city. There is even a cricket team that reached the semifinals in their inaugural season. Our student government is highly involved lobbying for the students. Our theater company produces world class plays and musicals in the famous Ethel Merman Theater. We don't get that much funding compared to some rich schools but whatever we have we use it effectively for the greater benefit of the school. So please vote for Bryant as the best school.

Wow! W. C. Bryant high school is the school because it has many clubs to join that other schools don't have as many and performances like the MultiCutural Festival. The teachers are helpful in any way to prepare you to succeed into your goals. I have heard some complaining in the past. But in the end, its about you-yourself to benefit in what you want to successed into your future. The school offers you opportunities and education. As for my experience, there has been tough times and good times. Everything was a learning experience from studying within 24hours for a test to being part of a Breast Cancer Walk-A-Thon. I have met new friends and together with old friends. Which we shared our crazy moments.

William Bryant HS has one of the finest drama clubs in the area. Unfortunately, like most 'old' public schools, the auditorium and stage need a huge makeover to make it shine across the country. The plays are professional and polished under the direction of Mr. Christopher Hartmann. His drama club is excellent and perform a variety of plays not just the fluff and nonense I've seen on other HS stages. Mr. Hartmann even has his faculty involved. This money could go a long way to upgrade their present drama resources. Please, please take into account that this school's drama was not even a spot on the map until Mr. Hartmann elevated it to a performing arts school again. Turn his school into a spectacular modern theater in an age when the arts are a dying entity. Signed, an educator of 30+ years.

I love this school because 1, I go there. But if I didn't like it, I would have transferred. Every teacher gives you a comfortable environment to work in and the teachers are not boring, which means it's easier for a student to learn. I am a 95 average student with an AP class and honors class and it required a lot of work to get into these programs, so that tells us that it's not all about slacking off. Encouragement is the main key to success and teachers at Bryant definitely give you that encouragement, that little push needed for students to do better and achieve their goals.

W.C. Bryant High School is a great school and has a tremendous music and theater program. The teachers are very dedicated with the improvement of students knowledge and skills that would help them throughout school and life.

I graduated bryant this June of 2009. Bryant had the a great influence in me. It has gotten me to become interested in the business field. I three years of business courses that bryant offered. I was part of the VE program.. This program gave me great expernce in business. It allow the students to oporate a virtual business n completed transaction of that of the real world. Bryant is number one in all of queens.. The teachers were all great. All were great help. All motivated every student to do their work. The student would find a way to relateto the teachers.

Bryant High school is one that welcomes all types of people. It welcomes diversity, which is probably why it is one of the most diverse high schools in New York City. I graduated from there about three years ago, (this is the fourth). It gave me a foundation to take with me everywhere I go in life. It showed me to appreciate teachers I can rely on, and lend help those who need it. The programs in the school made every student feel at home, and I'm sure it still does today.

most of the teachers are laid back, cool, with a sense of humour, and it actually makes me want to do good in their class, because failing them would feel like betraying a peer.

This school has excellent teachers, who truly care about their students, as well as excellent programs such as the law program, and the emerging artists programs. The high school chamber choir is also one of the best choirs in the city. The choral director Scott Frank is the best.

More than 3400 wonderful and diverse students and staff, great academics and electives, tons of after school sports, activities, and clubs, award-winning business courses, high-level performing arts classes (theatre, music, chorus, dance), a beautiful and large library---a school whose students and staff restored my optimism for the future. I LOVE Bryant High School!

I went to Bryant for four years and loved it! All the English teachers were amazing and will lead you to a great and easy college life if you listen and pay attention! The math teachers were ehh...and some really need to retire (if they have not done so by now). This school has so much to offer and I just wished that student and parents would be more supportive and open their eyes!

I spent four years at Bryant and I loved it there. There are a lot of kids at Bryant, but if you go to school and do what you have to do, you will do great. It is diverse and most of my teachers there were pretty good. It is sad to see how the school has changed since I have graduated 3 years ago, but it happens. Overall, I had a wonderful expereince there because I was able to stay focused.

As a student and a student teacher years later I have found that Bryant High School has changed. I have seen negatives and posistives. Teachers have improved, their attitude, their control over the students and classroom management has gotten better. As of students, students need to be kept under better control because as hard as the deans and principals are working it is hard to control everything, maybe watching out for who you accept into Bryant could bring Bryant into higher ratings and it eventually may become a very successful school to attend. However, it has succeeded very much over the years and I am always proud to say that I once was a student at Bryant, too. (To be able to be a student teacher has only increased the amount of appriciation I have for the school and the changes I was able to see.)

The theater and music departments are outstanding. This shows in the quality of the plays and music recitals performed at the school. Many of the teachers and guidance counselors are outstanding and really care about the students. The student body is very large and the school is overcrowded. The Principal who left last year was very good. We shall see how the new one does.

The school is big, but has a warm family atmosphere. My son is new to the school this year and has made a great transition from intermediate school to high school. He enjoys going to school and enjoys his English class and teacher. I receive notifications by mail and phone of PA meetings and calendar of events which I rarely received from his other school. So far I have only good to say about Bryant and all the activities they offer students to participate in.

First of all, it's huge - the number of students tops 3000, and I'm always rushing to try and get to classes on time with all the crowds. Second, it is not air conditioned. There is not a single air conditioner or fan in the entire school, not even the gym. This definitely affects test taking ability. Third, cutting classes is very easy. Bryant is a bit loose on discipline. However, on the bright side, it's got a wide variety of gym activities, clubs to join, sports teams, and a wide array of second languages to choose from (though in my second language class, the students are so ill-behaved that the teacher can hardly . The academics are okay and so are the teachers. I personally don't like this school, but I can't say it's bad.

this school is not great but not bad eithier. The discipline is not great to. But how ever its a good school because there's always something to do, in a good way. There was a play going on this week. It was great. You also learn alot and their senoir trips are great. The secret of this school is to do what you need to do. P.S. there are not alot of fights in this school. I mean common every school has there days

bryant is a very good school, with SO many opportunities (the law program for future lawyers, policemen, etc) your child can make it a good school if they dont get distracted and go off the wrong way. kids are so tempted to cut class these days which is saddening because they regret it when they have to go to summer school.

This is a very focused school, with dedicated teachers and administrators. The multi-cultural student body is used to a great advantage for the school with great language program. Quality of learning and music, art and science standards are high. This school is looking into the future the best way possible.

Hi all, I can tell you that W.C. Bryant is a relatively good school. It offers a lot of Advancement Placement programs, as well as college now credits. There are also numerous clubs and organizations your child can be involved in. The only problem is that W.C. Bryant is a very big school and sometimes the children can not get all the attention they need. However, the overall level of this high school is pretty good. About 80 percent of the students go to college.

William Cullen Bryant is an average high school, for average students. It really depends on what classes you are in, most classes are average, decent amount of homework and require effort. Some are nothing but distruptions by students that simply dont care about their education. Most of the teachers at WCB are great, and motivate you, theres not really that many terrible teachers in this school. Most people might think that this school might not require a lot of effort because it is zoned. This school requires a great deal of effort and ample homework time thats what I learned since I've really started going here. One big problem is security, the security is not that great, way too many people in the hallway and does not seem to be stopping. Overall good school but not that great.
