The teachers are wonderful at this school, truly dedicated. The problem is the principal she screams at parents, completely tactless, and does not have patience with young children. Besides the leadership, the school is great.

This school should not be a school....its ridiculously small for the grades they plan to open.....teachers are great but the ALL office staff is utterly incompetent....if your looking for a school for a child of special needs this is not the place for you...not to mention the principal is condescending and unprofessional

P.S. 273 is an exceptional school due to the outstanding leadership of the Principal Brenda Ward. I am a parent and an educator, I have seen first hand what it takes to really put the needs of children first. Ms. Ward exemplifies the characteristics our children should learn and be proud of. I am beyond happy and excited to have my child in her school. Where children really do come first academically, socially and emotionally. Thank you Ms. Ward and the amazing staff of P.S. 273. Keep on doing what your doing.

ps 273 I must say this is a good school. The major complaint is the principal. She is rude and obnoxious. She speaks to parents innapropriatly and is very unprofessional. Some parents are considering removing their children from the school because of her. The school would be an a+ if she would leave or change her attitude.

My daughter attends kindergarten at PS273. I love it! The staff is exceptional. The children are learning and doing things you wouldn't have imagined. The principal Brenda Ward believes in the children and is dedicated to what she does and has chosen staff who feels the same. Proud to be a 273parent!

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.

The NYC Department of Education asked parents, teachers and students about their school's learning environment. Results provide insight into school climate, such as whether the school is academically rigorous, safe, communicative and collaborative. Learn more

The information captured by the survey is designed to support a dialogue among all members of the school community about how to make the school a better place to learn. An overall category score is calculated for each respondent group (parents, teachers, or students) by averaging the scores of the questions within that survey category.

Category scores for each of the respondent groups are then combined to form overall category scores. Alongside the results for each school are the aggregated results across all NYC public schools, which are provided as a basis for comparisons.
