Well I find it appalling that low hygiene plays no importance at all when it comes to this school. I have a baby food jar full of p.s. 90 bed bugs. Is that enough evidence sweetheart. I have video proof of watching a handy man destroy a $300.00 wooden bed I paid for and only had for 2 years. I could careless about this school academics when it comes to my home and belongings. Oh and also the blatant disregard for a growing problem since 2010!!! All I know is my child's education has been affected because of a problem they are helpless in doing anything about. I am sick and tired of the "cloak and dagger" treatment of this mishandled problem. So save me the violin stories of this "heart" treatment!!!!!!!!!!

My son has been in PS 90 since Pre-K. He is in 4th grade this year and doing very well. If you do your part as a parent your child will succeed in PS 90. This school welcome parents with open arms. As far as bed bugs concern I never had any problems with the school. No one should point finger unless you had real evidence, after all there are parents that are quite happy with this school with heart.

My daughter has been treated unfairly and have to bring bedbugs home to a house that never had this problem. What I would like to know is what is important hygiene or a good education? Sending out fliers 4 to 5 months in a row and telling you to call 311 does not get rid of bedbugs. Does these actions give me back my beds, clothes, shoes as well as sanity? Does P.S. 90 principal as well as staff help bring family members back to my home for the holidays? This school has literally escaped all and any news media because of there lame attempt in dealing with the problem. The principal is very weak and the staff gossipy and hippocritical. I agree with the parent below about the teachers. This school should NOT be rated a "5" star school.

My son has been at this school since kindergarten and my daughter since first grade. It is not a good school. They do not focus on the children's grammar or spelling which they need in order to write. They don't focus on helping children that are behind in reading by giving them the services they really need. If they do give services they don't focus on helping the children but blame the parents for them not doing well. Even when the parent is very supportive in their child's education and has the child do his hw every night and has practically perfect attendance. This year is the first year my son actually was given a good teacher that focused on what needed to be done. I do not recommend trhis school.

PS 90 is a great school with a welcoming staff. When you take the time to be active in your childs learning environment you see the hard work that goes into the job. My daughter has been here since kindergarten and has needed additional services that have been provided. Now as a 5th grader, she does not require all the help because she has improved. I credit the school for this and am grateful. The PTA also works hard to have activies for the school and this is a plus. Unfortunatley bed bugs is a problem in NYC schools, I have not experienced it in this school but instead of blaming the school I do feel as parents we should be watching out more effectively that we do not bring it to school. Also the Principal takes the time to know the kids, a few years ago I heard her for the first time greet my child by name I was impressed because out of so many children, her taking the time to do this is remarkable. Prior to this I had no personal interaction with her besides just knowing her position.

P.S. 90 does not impress me anymore. My son was struggling and his so called teachers tell me they are doing their best to help him. But for 7 months they have set him him up to fail and bragged to me that they will be teaching him again next fall before he got his final report card. I am dealing with this and their bedbug problem they sent my son home from school with. I have spent over $5,000.00 fixing their problem in my home. This school is just upsetting and my son will never go back their this September!!!

PS90 has a policy of contacting and reaching out to the parents whenever a situation arises. Most importantly, the situation with the bedbugs has been addressed. The principal and staff at this school have made every effort of making sure that if bedbugs are found in a child's belongings, the school contacts the parents right away to alert them that the have brought bedbugs to the school and should check their homes. The school takes every precaution to have a safe, clean environment where children come to learn and get an education.

Love this school highly educated teachers with masters and beyond, can't say that about private school teachers. Free after school, tennis lessons available, girls scouts, karate, it is a small school but there is always an activity to look forward to.
