Having all my brothers and sisters graduate from OLMM and now having many years to appreciate the service provided I would rate them 5 stars. For those whose children entered A student and became D maybe it was because the previous experience was in public education. What is taught in k thru 8 is fundamental to higher education.I also know that discipline is the beginning of the learning process.
Great school. For $3200.00 a year my son gets great education. I do not have time to work with him a lot but the teachers there are doing great job over there.
So much emphasis is placed on money and not quality of education. The curriculum is so oudated and the teachers love to yell. There is no investment in actually making the school modern (take a look at the library and computers).
I went to OLMM from Kindergarten-8th grade and I loved it!! The teachers are so nice and always willing to help. The school is strict but teaches you respect and common courtesy. OLMM has taught me so much and if I could I would go back in a heartbeat!!!
My daughter and my son have been in olmm for several years and for the money I invest in my childrens education and well being Iam getting more than I though. every where you go even in public schools they ask for money thats how live moves foward. I feel safe with my children there and my peace of mind is worth every penny some things in life are priceless and my childrens well being is one of those things. we as parents we should give our children every opportunity you can, for them to succeed in life and olmm is that gate to a great start. For every child that succeeds there has always been a teacher that touched that child. Lets give credit where credit is due. thank you to all the teachers and staff at olmm. Millie braun
'Where Every child shines' is true. I am currently a student and love it here. Every day is fun and I learn many new things. The teachers are ALL caring. The are strict but nice. They want every child to succeed and go beyond their limits, in a good way. We could get less homework (hint-hint) and have more afterschool activities. I love being in the choir. If anyone out there wants to join, please! Its open to everyone. The principal, Ms.Baxter, deals with everything in a good manner. The school does send out alot of annoying fundraising papers, but every school needs money. Worth every penny. I have changed schools alot and I 1000000000% recommend this school (Join!)!
I am currently an 8th grader in OLMM and I say its the best school I could go too.At first I hated the idea of going to a school that I didn't want to go, but as I got to know the kids and teachers I started to love the school. The school has given me many of opportunites.Even though they do ask for money lots of times the money is worth the school. The teachers are great and my opinion is that Mrs.Lindamenn, the 8th grade teacher is the best teacher ever. She does act mean but its for a good cause because she prepares you for the real thing in the future.
A school that is worth every penny. My children learned everything they needed to prepare them for High School. My daulghter received Scholarship to a Catholic High School. They learn the 3 'R's' of life - Respect, Responsiblity and Religion
Both my children attend OLMM since 2001. The school and faculty are very caring to the students. There is alot of homework and tests, but from what I hear from high school parents they are very well prepared for high school. The principal is strict and does not stand for nonsense. The children are taught discipline and resect. 90% of 8th graders reveive scholarships to high school. I feel it is a good school to send your children to.
haha. Miraculous Medal is a joke. Im currently a student there & im going into the 8th grade. One of the teachers is fabulous ; she's so nice & treats the students like people. Some other think they are above us & treat us badly. One teacher interrupted me as i was reading an essay i wrote & yelled at me ; FOR THE WAY I TALK! Another teacher decided we should do debates in class...& my group was given Cons for the topic of Boot Camp for Young Offenders. I researched & found the pressure of boot camp caused one child to commit suicide. The teacher interrupted & yelled at me for making a false statement & went on too fight our debate & continuosly siding with the other team. Okay-ish School ; rigged; & only concerned bout fundraising & money money MONEY.
OLMM is a school whose main priority is money money money. I attended this school from 2001-2004 and can personally attest to this. I am now currently a high school senior and have horrible memories from this school. I was constantly handed papers and envelopes to take home and bring to my parents to 'donate' to the school and other such things. The curriculum there is terrible. Entering high school, i was so behind in many things especially math and science. However by studying hard i was able to teach myself things that were sloppily taught to me in this school. I have terrible memories of the discipline at this school, as well as many of my friends. There were so many cases of the principle ms. Baxter making students cry by threatening them and putting them down and lowering their confidence. Recess also consists of standing around and no running. Terrible place do not send your child here!
i pulled my kids out of there when they were just in 2nd grade and pre-k, and let me tell u this its thebest thing I ever did. That school first off is far behind academically then kids at p.s. 153, discipline...thats a joke...Second all they care about is the money. My kids came out of their grades not knowing any more than when they went in. That did it for me, and now i have 2 children in ps 153 in the beacon program.
I have had 2 children in OLMM from 1994 thru the present 2007. I have always been satisfied with the quality of education, discipline, and feedback from teachers regarding any situation I have presented them with. I would've liked remedial programs. My children did (and are doing) well at OLMM and have never once regretted sending them there.
This school is the best. I myself go there and its so interesting and fun the teachers are so nice, but the students are really smart, and disciplined. The principal is really sweet and nice but also strict. If you are looking for a cheap but fantastic school I totally recommend this school, even your kids will love it.
I don't understand what kind of academic institution is being run there, but all I can say is my son walked in with an A average and I had to pull him out because his grades had dropped to a D+. When I met with the principal to discuss his grades and what could be done she simply dismissed me by telling me she didn't have time for the conversation and if I didn't agree with the curriculum at the school then I should find another school. The main priority at this school is fund raising. I also enrolled him in a sports program which unbeknownst to myself had begun. I wasn't notified that practice had begun until after I myself noticed the check had been cashed. Again, centered around money.
This school is the best. From the principal to the teacher to the administrative assistant. They are all compassionate and also stern when needed. 90% of the 8th graders graduate with some kind of scholarship. That in itself says alot about the teachers and principal. My son was reading by the end of Pre-K. He is now in the 1st grade and reads at a 3rd grade reading level. All I can say is thank you to all of them.
Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal School has taught my children more than their everyday subjects. They were also taught to respect others and themselves. With this, they were able to grow up and become more responsible.
I believe that this school has given my boys more discipline academic-wise, as well as spiritually. The best move I could have ever made!
