This is a magnificent program. Half of the seats are reserved for recent immigrant or refugee children. You can feel the love as the whole school gathers three mornings a week to share their learning in music, dance or other forms. Each grade is a 'family' of 45 students with 3 teachers. My son has special needs, and is integrated into a regular classroom. One of the 3 teachers is special ed certified. We feel truly fortunate that he obtained one of the city-wide lottery seats, and has been there since kindergarten. I can't say enough about how wonderful this school is, and only wish it went up to 8th grade.

There is no other school in Rochester quite like The Children's school - it is truly child based, multi-cultural, inclusive, and has an exceptional arts based program.
