my son and i are new to John Marshall High School but we have found that this school is the best in the city. I have only seen positive teachers, adminstrative staff and all other employees. I would recommend any parent that cares about their childs education to consider this school.

It's true that John Marshall has challenges facing many urban schools, but my experience has been positive. If your child has a desire to learn and will 'take the responsibity for their education', he will reep the benefits offered by the many excellent staff and teachers at Marshall. One of the most enlightening classes provided, is the College Literature Class, taught by Ms. Margaret Daiss-Hurley. Ms. Hurley challenges her students to think and relate to authors and fellow students writing with inovative curiculum including: The Metaphore Project, Children's Subversive Literature and other modes of self-discovery which encourage interaction and acceptance among her students while participating in their journey of self-discovery through the written word. It is my observation that this curiculum would benefit all students at various levels to encourage tolerance, acceptance and admiration of fellow students during their own personal journey to 'learning with a purpose and application'. Bravo, Ms.Hurley!
