My daughter been at this school since 3rd grade, she has behavior issues (odd) and this school has done nothing to help her. I have been pushing for help but they seem to think that she is just a bad kid even thou i have provided the school with medical documentation. I will put in the transfer to another school for 5th grade due to their prejudice of my daughters condition.
I Been Here Since K - 6 Now I have to tell you its the best school in the whole RCSD I love this school My Name Is Miles Lawson All The Teachers I had were excellent they care about kids and love them Shoutout to everybody thank you for the help
Why are the scores for this school so low? School 50 is of the district's magnet school for students learning English as a Second Language (ESL). In fact, ESL students make up more than 20% of the school's population, and are, by definition, not yet able to master the English-intensive NYS exams in Math, Science, Social Studies, and ELA. When you consider this fact, and the fact that #50 also houses several special education classrooms, it is no surprise that their overall scores are lower than the state average. While it is politically incorrect to do so, if you exclude ESL students and students with profound learning disabilities from testing statistics, the school is actually on par with state averages even though #50 is a high-poverty school. The truth is, this is one of the finest public schools in Rochester.
