I love Norman Howard because students are valued, respected, and prepared to become independent learners! Instead of worrying that my son will drop out of school, I am confident that he will graduate successfully and be ready for college! The teachers and leaders in this school are amazing and so willing to work with us to help our son be successful!

Without NHS my son would not have made i in the public school system or in life. Today he is a confident, bright, ready for college young man. The success NHS has brought to his and our lives can never be expressed or repaid. Thank you teachers and staff for your hard work, patience and most of all, believing in my child!

For 3 consecutive years, public school was nothing short of disasterous for my son and the entire family. We knew we had to make some serious changes so our son could find success. He began at the Norman Howard School in 5th grade (placed there by our district) and with a collaborative effort, soon made a complete turn around. The small supportive environment together with teachers who went the extra mile for my son made all the difference in the world. The teachers got to know my son and built on his strengths. Academic topics are interesting for the kids so they stay involved. Consistent and effective teaching methods for specific areas of need with good home/school communication have resulted in progress that is obvious. My son has been there 5 years now. I am so thankful to have found Norman Howard School. My son loves it there.

There is never a negative word in any correction of problems. Very creative teaching. My son was independent in programming power point presentations by the end of 6th grade . I need help at age 40. He argues with me about staying home if he is sick. He wants to go to school, not stay home. Home work asssignments are accessable on the internet. All classes revolve around a common theme or topic. English class has novels on civil war. Writing class has produced a newspaper as though they were covering the war events. They find recipes for that time period. Calculate costs to purchase and cook the meals. The parents are invited for lunch and presentations of class work. During the coverage of Egypt and mummies the class mummified bananas. I am ready to go back to school myself so I can enjoy learning .
