Overall not a good school. Kids are very disrespectful and not a school I would recommend. Move more east or west

Teachers in this school really care about the children and do their best. I give them a lot of credit for their patience with the kids. What I mean is that very often there is a fight at school between the kids and the school staff can not do much to improve the kids' behavior. Detentions don't help. The good thing about this school is that they have an ASTRE program for gifted and talented students, and if your child is smart the teacher will recognize it and do everything she/he can to put your child in that program.

My children have been attending the school the past 2 years. The principal was trying to apply for a magnet school grant. Some of the reasons listed were to increase diversity and desegregate the school district. Teachers do care and try to work with the students and parents. The school could use more parent participation. They are making improvements. Extracurricular activities include basketball and various clubs like art and computer after school. They also have a Astre Gifted and Talented program in the school. I would like to see more music in the school.
