This school isn't parent friendly sometimes old vice princpal was very rude and bullying went on nothing was being delt with about bulling and fights would go on with parent food was discussing my child said and that was school lunch they can improve by giving good food and healthy food and stop bulling and have more respect towards parents and the good thing is the teachers but sometimes they could grab the students attention

This school has the worse teachers, they don't care about the children my 5 year old son hates to go to school and it's just kindergarten. I was running late to pick up my son so I called the school to notify them, when I got there 1 of the school aides let him go home with his 7 year old friend and some other kids I did not know. DON'T SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS SCHOOL. Also they have classes that share kindergarten with 1st grades it's a horrible school.

Honestly, this school has some of the most caring and patient teachers. I attended this school from 6th-8th grade and because of the support and guidance from the teachers, I was accepted to Townsend Harris, one of the top high schools in New York City. Yes, there are fights between the students often but that is not something that can be solved overnight. The teachers try their best to resolve those types of problems.

I think this school need better equiped teahers and the pupils need very strong disipline. This school need a strong make over. Bright colors can contribute to a chil's mood and ability to achieve academically. The colors on the school's wall are to dim. When I entered into the school, I did not see any of the student's class assignments on the achievement board, which is usually posted in the hallways. As a parent, that is the first thing I look at. The kids in this school are very violent. My kids came home every day crying. They always feared being jumped. They were constantly afraid and always told me the teachets ignored them when they asked for help with their work. In schools like this, the teachers give up, therefor pupils have to do the best that they can. Schools like these are considered zoos. Hurricane Sandy saved my kids. After the storm, my kids were placed in different schools.

This school is a disgrace to the NYC public school system. A big reason why is because you have the projects down the block where most parents arent involved in the childrens life and there children come to the school with this negative, ghetto mentality and it effects the children who do come from good homes and want to learn. Me and my wife are leaving this neigborhood to put our children in a better school district and give them the nurturing, guidance, and safety they need. Some teachers really try there hardest. Others are there simply for a paycheck and do not care AT ALL about the kids. PARENTS you owe it to your children to put them in a better school district. It might be a sacrifice but its one of the many that come along with having children. DO NOT PUT YOUR KIDS IN THIS SCHOOL. PERIOD. Bullying runs RAMPANT along with a whole heep of other social issues that are effecting our young people

This school is honestly horrible, i warn you do not send your kid here please. I was in this school for Kindergarten and 1st grade, i came back for middle school. I thought that they changed and didn't do any bad stuff anymore. Oh my, when i came back... I was so upset cause it was that bad. The teachers are careless and lazy, because they don't want to teach and most of the time the teachers just talk. The kids are so mean and disrespectful to everyone. I just want to cry, they even say bad words and they curse too. WORST SCHOOL EVER

I went to a school with not so good teachers. I thought transferring to a new one will be better. It was the biggest mistake I've done in my life. This school, PS/MS 183Q is the worst school in the history of bad schools. -Ive been bullied here. -Teachers are really lazy. They do not teach. Especially the 7th grade teachers. To be specific, Mrs. Pauline Cummings, Mrs. Diana Cisario, and more. They sit in a classroom all day long not teaching. All they do instead is tell students to open a book and answer the questions and yell at them! -Students on the other hand are really rude. They are very distracting, annoying, undisciplined, uneducated creatures. They would not listen to staff members. -However, I commend two teachers in the 8th grade. Mrs. Gloria Brown and Ms. Nia Brown. They are the teachers that know how to educate students! (I want to thank you both by the way if youre reading this) -Theres only one Physical Education teacher who tortures students. That teacher gives poor grades to everyone! Its unfair. -So whoever is trying to look for a school in the Rockaways, I do not recommend this school for anyone. Your child will not get a proper education here. I rest my case.

Teachers in this school really care about the children and do their best. I give them a lot of credit for their patience with the kids. What I mean is that very often there is a fight at school between the kids and the school staff can not do much to improve the kids' behavior. Detentions don't help. The good thing about this school is that they have an ASTRE program for gifted and talented students, and if your child is smart the teacher will recognize it and do everything she/he can to put your child in that program.

My children have been attending the school the past 2 years. The principal was trying to apply for a magnet school grant. Some of the reasons listed were to increase diversity and desegregate the school district. Teachers do care and try to work with the students and parents. The school could use more parent participation. They are making improvements. Extracurricular activities include basketball and various clubs like art and computer after school. They also have a Astre Gifted and Talented program in the school. I would like to see more music in the school.
