this is a great place! i learned so much and met friends for a lifetime!
I think Stella Maris is the best school because of their friendly and helpful staff, the principle and assisstant principles are amazing. The sports programs are great. And last but no least, blue and gold is the best event ever.
I graduated from stella in 2006. Looking back on the whole experience Stella really changed my life. With a graduating class of 100 girls I can honestly say I miss everyone of them dearly. The academics have come along way since I was a freshman. Now with more focus on AP Classes and SAT Prep (something they didnt really have when I went there), I know my sisters are recieving a great education. Once you get over the whole catholic all girls school, wear a uniform everyday thing you really never want to leave.
I am a senior attending Stella Maris. I can say with complete confidence that this by far has been the most amazing four years of my life. I've been blessed with the most amazing teachers and faculty. You will never find a school with teachers as caring as the teachers in Stella. Stella is our home away from home. We truly strive for excellence in every aspect. I was a member of the choir for four years. We sang at Carnegie Hall and toured in Washington, and it was the most memorable experience of my life. All of Stella's many extra-curicular activities are great. Stella is also located right on the beach. Parents, if you think your daughter may feel uncomfortable because it's an all girl school, don't even worry about it. Everyone is 'family'. If I could do it all over again, I would.
I am a proud graduate of this school...the close-knit environment made for a great academic experience, and the faculty was always there to help us.
I have seen nothing but positive changes in my daughter since she started Stella. I love what the school does for her, so what if we have to give something back, it's better than having your child lost in the shuffle. Everyone at Stella knows everyone and the teachers are very caring.
I am a student attending Stella Maris High School and I think that this High School is the best choice I have ever made. I am learning more and I can talk to the teachers if I have a problem.
I just recently graduated from Stella this past June and I personally received a good education but with the exception of some, most of the teachers were always very helpful. It was a close knit family where all the teachers knew your name and the principal commented and signed every report card. It made you feel like you were more than just a number in the school. Stella is now 6-12 and only grades 6-8 (The Maura Clark Program)are coed but the actual high school is all-girl.
Although I do Agree that my daughter recieved a good education, I found many of the staff at Stella Maris were rude and inconsiderate. My daughter graduated a few years ago and did not receive any help on college information with her guidance counselor, the guidance counselor would not even stand or speak at their graduation either. They always were asking the girls to sell things and everyone had to participate. During the four years my daughter attended Stella, all I dealt with was stress. I am very happy that those times have passed!
