Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Roosevelt High school, under the strong leadership of Dr. Stephen Strachan, has become a great learning environment for students full of exciting academically rigorous programs designed to prepare college and career readiness for students. The school is now a full uniform school and the children look like professionals every day! There are several new and innovative extracurricular programs that enhance the educational experience so much that many children are in found school still engaged in programs as late into the evenings. There are programs that give students the opportunity to earn up to 24 college credits before they leave high school and even an onsite culinary institute! Students can choose to take dance, sign language and an array of self- development and sports. I a ninth grader and I am totally please with there experience!

Roosevelt High School is the worst performing school in Nassau County. I would advise any parent to send their child else where if they can or to private school.

i am not a critic but i deffinately think that with the taxes that us parents have to pay here in roosevelt we can offord to have one of the best high schools in the country. our money is not being utilised in the manner to benefit the one it is supposed to (our kids) we pay for our children's education, where is the money? what is the budget? lack of organization on the part of those in authority.

Roosevelt, as well as other towns in L.I., need more than one high school in the district, that offer diverse courses such as vocational or trade, specialties such as computers culinary, cosmotology. The administration should get tips from city schools. There high schools offer just about everything under the sun, performing arts, culinary, law enforcement, computers, nursing, electronics. Sorry Boces can't be the alternative.

I think this is a quality school. I just moved to the area and am pleased with the services my son has been provided with. I am looking forward to when I can enroll my other kids at Roosevelt.

The teacher has to have as much interest as student and parents. If not you don't have the unity needed to educate. A smart teacher will tell the student the information and how to obtain more information on thier own. Don't just teach them, teach them how to learn.
