My son and I saw Martin De Porres on 7/22/10, and both liked it very much. I saw things there that he is not getting in his present school. My son has ADHD, so I am wondering and hoping that it is the place for him. Can anyone answer me? I hope, since I see nothing but great reviews.

Martin Deporres is a private elementary school that seems to have remembered that schools exist to teach. My younger son is a seventh grader there, while my older son attends a public school on Long Island. When I compare their educations so far, I believe my seventh grader could step into 9th grade at the local public school and be on an equal academic footing. It's not perfect, but it has good teachers, a dedicated staff and above all, provides a superior education. What else can you ask for?

When my grandson started this school in 7th grade he was unsure of himself and his ability. He is now in 9th grade and going for a regents deploma. The teachers there are great and approachable. They try to help you in anyway they can. You will not be kept in the dark about anything, they will call, and or email you if you choose. My grandson now knows he can do more than what we thought. It is a special ed school but it does not limit its students thats what I like about it the most.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
