With some of the highest teacher salaries in the nation, Roslyn's 2 elementary schools (grades 1-5) sit in one of the wealthiest districts in the country. Schools provide 100% door-to-door bussing; special before-school tutoring to prepare children for State Tests; required art and music, sports, Spanish lessons, a computer room and a completely furnished Science lab, an awesome library, and anything else they can think of. Money is no object here. Foreign students receive their own personal tutor to translate and assist them, all day, as long as needed. All children own 2 sets of books (school, home). Some teachers may feel bullied at times by an aggressive PTA. There is a limited 'Gifted' program valuable mainly for the prestige of participating. Beautiful facilities are constantly being upgraded. Even if you can afford it, you'll still have to find someone willing to sell. Judy Steinberg Dean went here.
