Compared to the school my brother tranferred (P.S. 101 School in the Gardens), Heights school is lacking in so many aspects. This school isn't as tight and doesn't follow as close as P.S. 101 in studies and personal growth. Sure Heights gives out more personal attention due to smaller class size, but I didn't see the extra attention pour onto my brother. There is a lack of difficuly in their homeworks and futhermore just a lack of homework. There's also no such thing of a spelling test every week. The report card is too vague in their catogory's and your rated by how hard you try. Now doesn't every child try their best?

The Heights School truly provides its children a warm loving learning enviornment. I can t say enough about the teachers and the principal and the assistant principal, they are simply the best! Both always greet you with a genuine smile and a warm, sincere hello. The welcome, one receives in this building by all including the people at the front desk, is incredible. All are welcomed with the highest of respect.

Great school system, excellent teachers, I see my children's improvements right in front of my own eyes. I could not be happier with the school. It exceeds my expectation in every way.

This community adores its children and it shows in the Roslyn Heights Elementary School, a building that caters to young kindergarteners and a few first grader classes. Everything in this building has been selected for small children, playground to classrooms, many with their own bathrooms. Teacher salaries attract and keep the best professionals. Spanish lessons begin in kindergarten in a program that was featured on Public Television and is a model for programs around the country. Heavy PTA involvement promotes the interests of their young charges aggressively and pours energy into aggressive fundraising. Door to door bussing serves every child who goes here. The success of the reading program goes on to produce some of the highest scores on standardized tests in the country. In my daughter's Kindergarten class, half of the parents were MDs or dentists; the rest: lawyers and successful businesspeople. This school is Heaven.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.
