Stella Maris is closed as of June 2011. Our Lady of the Hamptons in Southampton Village has accepted all of the students from Stella Maris.
Stella Maris is a wonderful school with small class sizes and dedicated, vibrant staff. My daughter is in the 7th grade now and will graduate next year with wonderful fellow students, some of whom have been together for 10 years in class. Not one child ever gets left behind there. The schools Iowa scores are extremely high. Every single problem, worry, or joy and achievment my daughter ever had was addressed. Look forward to 2011/12 and our final year.
Stella Maris is a school that educates the whole child.Academics are strong, as is the moral education received. Children are nurtured and encouraged.
Stella Maris is wonderful! Dedicated teachers and admin. make you feel comfortable and at ease! In this day and age I am very glad that my child can attend a well balanced school. Teaching the 'whole' child is very important to my husband and I. We both atteneded catholic schools growing up and wanted the same for our children! Thank you Stella Maris!
While it is true that, academically, it is one of the top ranked schools in the country, I like the very sweet atmosphere; it is dramatically different from the public school I went to as a child. The positive moral foundation and atmosphere gives me the feeling that I have an ally in imbuing values in my children. I have the impression that the administrators know every child in the school and that nobody slips through the cracks. I love the K-8 structure, because I think the concept of Junior High is a dumb idea and I believe in postponing the teen years to, well, the teen years. Its not a Range Rover school; there are lots of middle class kids.
It's alright but not that great. Older students are treated like little kids here. Some teachers are a little weird and you really can't get through to them most of the time. The lunches aren't very good and not very healthy at all. It's ok sometimes but overall it's not as good as other people say. This is a student's view of the school. No offence to Stella Maris.
Stella Maris is an excellent school. Test results are in the top 6% of the nation, class sizes are small, teachers are all top notch. There is a wonderful family atmosphere at the school and my kids are thriving there. They have many after-school programs (sports, academic and artistic) that children can participate in from Nursery school on. Stella Maris eductates children in grades Nursery through 8th and gives my children a wonderful academic, moral and religious education. In short, I love it!
