I have just read a review from a parent , submitted in 2006, concerning the lack of books in the Niagara Wheatfield School District. Here it is 2008 and the problem still exists. My granddaughter attends Edwardtown Middle School and when I ask her about books to bring home to do home work and to study from, she says that the teachers tell her the same thing that they told the parent in 2006. Now, I know that sports are importent in school as well as teachers salaries, expansion and buying land for future expansion if needed. However, I think that class room work and homework are more important. Therefore, I would like to know, with all of the school taxes that I pay each year, why there are no books for the students in this school?

My son is failing all four subjects, but is doing excellent in band. I want to help him understand his homework, but he has no books to bring home to study from. His teachers say no books are provided for individual students. Can't our school budget afford books for our children to study and learn? He's given papers of homework to finish at home, and without help of understanding what he's to learn, I can't help him. So he fails, and no one seems to care. All the teacher and guidance counselor want to do is remove him from the only thing he can do and understand best...band.
