I'm so proud to say my four sons attended Heathcote School from Kindergarten. They participated in all the School activities, and I as a parent was happy to be the Class mother for all of their classes including Sports activities. I was the Founder of the Heathcote International Families, and presented a marvelous International Fair which was held for a few days by request of the current Superintendent in order to allow the attendance of all Westchester Superintendents and Teachers. My sons are enjoying their new careers in Denver CO and proudly carry on their distinguished degrees from CU at Boulder, and are highly respected in their positions. Scarsdale Schools have played an important background in their young lives. Heathcote School in particular is -in my opinion - the most awarded Elementary School due to its architecture solely geared to house our young children as they start elementary school enjoying their miniature bathrooms and own kiddies playground, not to be mixed with older children. They also have their own ovens, kilts, piano etc. It's a school fit for young children.
The quality of learning at this school was excellent. The teachers are wonderful and friendly, my middle school children visit thme often, and miss the school a lot. The art, music, and gym program was great. The kids loved it. There are many oppurtunities for parents to get involved with the school, such as going on trips, being a class parent, serving on committees and much more. This school is definetly one of the best.
Realistically one of the best public elementary schools in the United States. Highly paid and motivated teachers. Highly-educated professional parents who place education as a priority. Cutting edge teaching appraoches. Well funded music, art, band and strings programs. Excellent physical facilities with: famous 50's contemporary building by noted architect, includes 750 seat auditorium. Most kids can walk to school.
