I have to say I love Newfield High School. My son is a straight A student and was often not challenged in the past. He is doing wonderfully now. The teachers are great.

My son was in school here, and wasn't doing well. There is too much emphasis on getting by and discipline, and not enough emphasis on excelling and goals. He is now in a different district and is doing great. Midlle Country District is not one that I will miss.

Newfield High School is a wonderful environment for students -- a place where it is not difficult to feel at home. There are tons of wonderful elective classes available, and not enough periods in the day! The budget doesn't give a lot of room for improvement of the arts departments (the focus is mainly on sports, unfortunately), but department leaders are fantastic at making do with what the school does have. The teachers are excellent, intelligent, and top notch. Not only are they great educators, but great influences as well. They're extremely friendly and open to parent involvement. There could be more parent involvement, and I really wish some parents would take some time to get involved with Newfield. Newfield is a great school and my daughter's experience there was amazing, and something she will never forget.

There are many academic classes to choose from, especially electives and honors classses. The teachers are enthusiastic and very eager to help the kids succeed. They welcome communication from the parents, which is something I did not find at the Middle School. The Music department is in the top 100 in the country and there are also many other extracurricular activities to choose from. I would like to see more parents involved in the school.

Large enough school to emcompass more elective classes, marvelous music department with many extracurricular activities that give students the opportunity to be student-run.

Middle Country and especially Newfield could use some more community support and a little sense of pride.
