I only had good experiences with the school and staff. It's not the school's fault that it is put under enormous pressure from the state. The school is funded by the state and therefore must adhere to state regulations.

One of my children graduated from this school and the other is still attending. There are a few great teachers and staff, but too many inappropriate ones also. Some should never be working with children (teen-agers). Too many discipline problems, especially in special education. The percentage of children with behaivorial problems is about 80%. Only 20% are children with physical disabilities. This school needs to be tuffer on offenders to fellow students, teachers and staff; and those with drugs and weapons in order to create a better learning and safer environment. It is my belief that if they did these things students would be more open to learning, to being comfortable, and to being an themselves (in a polite, respectful way of course) which would result in teachers liking their students once again. The school concentrates too much on end of the year state tests and attempting to fit students into pre-molded slots. I'd rather my children came away with knowledge that would help them in college and in life than with only knowing the answers to some rediculous test that satisfies only the state. I feel my children would have learned more and been more comfortable at a different school or by being home-schooled.
